keepin it simple

I have to ship this ***** to Texas AGAIN for JTAG....?"

Cuz I sure cant read through the translations google gives me for this http://bbs.gfan.com/android-6269182-1-1.html and make sense of it....

Im so lost , and I earned that , don't even think I have any cells left after all the reading through different threads of MANY devices, with all good info , done rendered myself perplexed...
Darksprite has the best tools running for brick fix software solution; unfortunately, no one has emulated that work for this particular device.
JTAG tools work. ie: http://www.riffbox.org/jtag-news/riff-jtag-lg-e960-nexus-4-lg-mako-boot-repair-supported/ is SC closer than TX? I got a riff. If no, just look around in your community; probably a repair shop that has same.

What is the current situation with nexus 4? For zte nubia z5 or zte nubia z5s mini (i dont remember well) they unbrick phone with emmc downloader app (installed with qpst) they input the name of the .hex and the .mbn file uncheck programm emmc, check trusted mode add the location of the mbn and the hex to the search path 2 then they click on download, after that the phone internal storage becomes available. It is possible to dd images to the right partition in linux, or use winhex in windows.

that is just a soft brick, in this thread, we talk about qhusb dload mode, when your phone its in that situation, charging -> red light, conecting to pc -> QHUSB_DLOAD device, and wont turn on screen

now getting back to topic, anyone knows how to trigger this mode without having something messed up?, tried removing aboot and abootb, but would do the same things as hardbricked however in pc would be recognized as a full jellybean on mako(lgnpst mode)

Hi guys, I believe this is one of the best places to ask for help.

I've a Nexus 4 with no OS/Recovery installed. Had PA 3.99 with TWRP Recovery before it died. ROM went first and while rebooting, it stuck on Google logo. While trying to fix it by fastboot flashing factory image, it said [FAILED (remote: flash write failure)]. Then I tried Force Flash feature of Nexus Root Toolkit and instead of helping, it wiped the TWRP Recovery too.

Now N4 screen stays blank. When I connect it to PC, it makes sound, LED blinks in red and Device Manager of the PC shows it as [Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)].

I'M NOT VERY MUCH EXPERT ON THESE THINGS. I'VE READ MANY POSTS IN THIS THREAD BUT I COULD NOT FIND ANY TO THE POINT SOLUTION. PLZ LET ME KNOW HOW CAN I BRING THIS N4 BACK TO LIFE.

Regards!

your phone is indeed in qpst mode (what this thread is about), but since it said flash write failure in fastboot before, 95% of chance of your emmc being bad :( .

Any suggestion to fix it?
since we cant use qpst, you could try jtag if you have the tools, but as I said probably your emmc is bad. since your emmc is bad, if you have someone who have lg tools, you can use smd to replace the nand and then re write it, if you don't have that, the only way is changing the whole motherboard :(

A method that worked for me

Good news, everyone!

Yesterday something managed to go wrong when I was updating my Nexus 4 from google factory image and my poor phone went into Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode.
After some extensive googling I managed to find everything necessary to recover the phone here, on XDA.

First you need a factory TOT-image for N4, which you can get here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/stock-stock-roms-collection-ca-eu-au-t1976057
Then you need to follow step-by-step instructions from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g3-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933853
Just a little correction for our device: in step 2 part 1 choose G (APQ8064) instead of B2 (MSM8974AC).
If you are lucky and your phone isn't physically/electrically damaged, you'll get a working fastboot.

a little update:

I just noticed that TOT I used contains partition table for 8Gb model, so recovery process repartitions your device to match 8Gb. To fix this by following this guide( "Next steps for Nexus 4 16GB" part):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...unbrick-n4-t2347060/post43164157#post43164157

Be careful and check md5/sha1 check-sums for downloaded files(dd and two .img files), I was careless and bricked my phone again.

P.S. Big thanks for everybody on XDA, who made all necessary components available.
