Just wondering what wireless chargers everyone is using.
Seeing that the Pixel Stand is so expensive. I've opted to use my Samsung Fast Wireless charging stand as my main charger, but noticed that my old Nokia DT-900 charger (back from my Nexus 5) still manages to show "charging rapidly" on my Pixel 3, so I have it as an extra charger for my living room.

So what chargers are you guys using or what do you recommend?

I'm using the Nexus wireless charger from years ago. Also says charging rapidly. Relegated it to the recycle heap, pulled it out and voila

Edit.. lol doesn't work. Says charging but doesn't. Oh well.

I have a lot of Wireless chargers ( Nexus 4 wireless charger, energizer wireless charger, Samsung ) but none of them support 10W so I ordered ( Lenovo Fast Wireless Charging Pad W03 )
1- USB-C
2- I believe Lenovo and I like the design

I have a square Nexus charger at home and one at work (and an older Nexus orb charger I don't use anymore), and both the square ones are working with my Pixel 3.

I couldn't get it to work. It looks like it's charging, makes all the little noises and displays, but the charge doesn't go up. I'll try it again I guess. I have so many USB c cords and chargers now that it's really never a problem. My laptop also has a usb c port for fast charge. I did notice the old Nexus charger got pretty warm so it kinda threw me off the wireless idea. Maybe on black Friday the Google one will go half off and I'll get it then.

The one at work, at least, is definitely charging. I haven't payed attention to the one at home. Make sure the wireless charger is plugged into a 2 amp charger adapter.
Holy crap I didn't think of that. Just plugged it into my old 2 amp charger and it's working just fine. Thanks a lot!

Pixel 3 capability of 18W - what does it mean for 10W or 39W Qi chargers

Following up on a research.
I see lots of wireless Qi chargers, with advertised high wattage numbers. Also Pixel 3's battery array is advertised to support 18W speed charging.
Does it mean:
1. that 10W chargers are slower than what pixel 3 can handle ?
2. that 30W+ chargers are a waste of money?
3. should I look for exactly 18W chargers?

Also my 4 years old Duracell Powermat does not charge the pixel 3, I can't see why.
Last bit - if you use a charger that works, could you please link it from amazon/somewhere else please?

Thanks,
JD

The Duracell is PMA, not Qi I believe.

The pixel supports 18w charging over USB.

The wireless charging maxes out at 10w.

Any charger over those power levels will be throttled back to meet the phone's requirements. You will not charge faster than the phone is capable of.

i have a magnetic magikmount that i use both on my desk and in my car. love it. don't wanna get rid of. that said, one can't take advantage of wireless charging if they have a metal plate under their case for a magnetic mount... correct?

Android Police is reporting that Google limits Pixel 3 wireless charging rate to standard 5W for third-party chargers. So even with a fast charger, Google will limit you to 5w, and yet you will still see "charging rapidly" on any wireless charher.
That's some bull sh*t

Thank goodness I saw this before buying a wireless charger. Google is turning into Apple

Wow. That is some shady s**t right there. I already have a couple of fast wireless chargers from my Samsung device and recently bought one for my car on Amazon. Glad I saw this before bashing it in my reviews.
