Hi, can anyone use an Amp meter (you can download an app called 'Ampere' on the Google Play Store for free) to measure how many mAh is going into the Pixel 3 when on the Pixel Stand? If they say that it charges the Pixel 3 at 10W, then the mAh level should be around 2000 mAh with around 4.4 Volts.
I wouldn't trust any list that shows a Samsung charger as being fully compatible.
As mentioned a few times already, all chargers are limited to 5w with the pixel 3 until a new set of chargers get certified by Google.
Here is data from a test of Q1 and Pixel stand, and a Q1 phone and Pixel 3. Although not truly definitive, it supports conjecture that
1. Pixel stand will fast charge Pixel 3.
2. Pixel stand will NOT fast charge Q1 phone.
3. Q1 stand will fast charge Q1 phone.
4. Q1 stand will NOT fast charge Pixel 3.
As Pixel is using Power Delivery (PD) standard, this data is consistent with that. Also, both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel stand are compatible with the BASIC Q1 standard of 5 watts maximum.
Google is licensing outside vendors to supply compatible chargers, but undoubtedly these will fast charge on PD systems ONLY, as the Pixel stand does. In light of this, I would seriously recommend paying for any Q1 charger, as shown in above "list", if you are expecting to fast charge a Pixel 3. Unfortunately, the Pixel 3 will lie to you by displaying fast charge on Q1 stands , but it will NOT fast charge!

But again, this is just speculation at this point. I see no reason why once this gets rolled out to more vendors they won't make a charger that does max for everyone. Belkin does now.
What Belkin model does "max for everyone?" They haven't yet released the one which will fast charge a Pixel. Whether that one will fast charge anything else is unknown at this point.
Google appears to be taking an Apple like approach to standards. Allowing other vendors to skirt that approach would be quite inconsistent. However, I do acknowledge that this is speculative at this point.

Of course it doesnt do Pixel yet. But this model covers most all other phone models. So, who's to say they won't add Pixel tech to this one as well?

nope. But they also list an iphone only model, a Samsung model, etc. So its not surprising they'd do a pixel only as well to start.
I'm just saying, there's nothing that I've seen officially stating that chargers won't be compatible with everyone at some point.

So you don't use the adapter that came with the Nexus charger? I don't see any power rating on it. I just see 1.8amps on the square Nexus charger.

The 1.8amp one works fine. It won't work properly with a 0.5 or 1amp one, though, I think.
I got my pixel stand today! Love it so far! No problems that it overheats or even discharges while watching YouTube!
What in fact a bit strange is that it was at 79% said rapidly charging and still needed 41 min to fully charge! That's not really fast if you ask me

well its still wireless. its going to be slower than wired regardless. and the higher the battery %, the slower it charges.

REally wish we'd start seeing some chargers already though. Want something for my work desk
I was able to get the pixel stand for free with my purchase so it is by my bed and use it at night time. Back when I was using my Nexus 5 I had bought two cheap $5 wireless chargers that I was (then) using one at my bed side and one by my computer desk. However, now that I am working I plugged one back in at my desk (I don't need fast charging when I am at home) and I will bring the other one to work, as I dont trust co-workers with a more expensive ones lol.
wireless is 10W, with cable is 18W, that's almost double.. with cable it would be about 24min
I hope to see a nice 10W wireless car charger soon
