Georgian language font support. Or at least font additions without root. The main reason I root most android devices is so I can put the Georgian font in for friends and family. I know its a rare language but it sucks paying 500+ for tablets which cannot read the whole internet. Especially annoying when my locked down iPad can read the sites.

+1 on the remembering scrolling position on the market app. Such a simply thing and probably really easy to fix, but so frustrating. As a result I only use my pc to browse the market and push the download to Xoom from there.

Something to add though. Would be to unlock the proxy settings, that are there but need a 3rd party app to access them. And along with that global proxy authentication in the settings. Eg. I can enable the proxy to use Xoom at University, but can only authenticate fronm the browser, so other apps can't get internet, not even gmail, which is really irritating.

Closely related is pppoe support, that would be awesome!

Great thread

Netflix and hbo go are not just apps. There are a lot of DRM related issues that could be addressed in updates. What I mean by 'doesn't play nice' is that simply isn't a supported device. I can't receive exchange emails, or connect via VPN, because the required security feature is not present on the Xoom. My iPad 2, Moto Atrix and iPhone 4 all connect to my corp network no problem.
Big second as for fixing the VPN client. That it shipped with a broken client is a travesty.

I might be the only human being with a Xoom that wishes that I could put a folder on my screen... But I like that ability. :)

Also I would like a screenguard button on the system bar- one touch disables the rest of the touchscreen (so you could watch a film and not worry about bumping the screen with your thumb) a second touch or a hard button to go back to normal. Is it possible?

Both host and mass storage are important for me and I believe both are "features" advertised if I remember rightly
USB Host mode has been confirmed, though it is not particularly useful at this stage, I do not remember if it is advertised.

Mass Storage Protocol has not been advertised or supported on the xoom to date. The xoom supports Media Transfer Protocol, which has some advantages and some disadvantages over MSP. Foremost on the list is that the device and the computer can access the same volume in MTP but not MSP. You can access MTP in Linux using FUSE but depending on your level of technical knowledge and how up to date your distro is this might be a challenge.

An additional feature request would be the Market in portrait mode. I do not like that the Market is locked in landscape.

First post updated with an element of categorisation rather than the haphazard list before.

@JanetPanic ... is USB host there in stock or by using Tiamat? Thanks for the clarification regarding the MSP/MTP (I haven't even plugged mine into a PC yet!!)

USB host (USB OTG mode to be precise) is there in stock as I understood it, but I now believe I was mistaken. A while back I thought a Motorola representative confirmed OTG support for the Xoom in the Motorola forums but going back I see I was mistaken (he said it was possible but did not commit that Motorola was developing OTG support.) https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/45430?start=15&tstart=0 for reference.
motorola forums said:
I am the engineer who designed the hardware for USB on the Xoom. I can confirm that the hardware is capable of supporting any USB 2.0 (or earlier) device using the host mode adapter cable. The software will, however, have limitations. The software that will be shipping on the Xoom will only have support for USB keyboards. I cannot guarantee this, but I have been told that support for camera connection will be available at some point. This should enable the Xoom to also detect some phones as digital cameras. As far as flash drives and external hard drives are concerned, I don't know whether or not they will be supported.

For those of you looking to buy the adapter, please do not buy a standard micro-USB to USB adapter. It is not going to enable host mode on the Xoom. The adapter sold by Motorola has the ID pin set to host mode, and the generic adapters you can buy online will not.
There have been 3d parties who have activated this function on rooted devices ( http://www.androidcentral.com/usb-host-mode-enabled-motorola-xoom ) so it is at least in theory possible for Android/Motorola to support OTG officially at some stage. This would be extremely useful for connecting cameras and external HDs to the xoom.

Folders and Greek support. Not sure why Folders where removed. If nothing else it is like they are bouncing around. Introduce a new feature in android and then take it away ...

Then there are all these developesr that try and reimplement it, but add rediculous faetures to make them stand out. Just make simple folders please

Scrollinh Sidebar

am not sure if someoe already said this. but to also make it easier to scroll in the broswer. like maybe a scrolling sidebar on the right side that can make it easy to get to the bottom of pages. cuz i find it hard to always swipe up a million times to get to the bottom of a long page. especially like a forun with alot of comment. amd also remember where i was when i clock a link and then hit the back button.

so in other words. a scrolling sidebar for easy access to skip to the bottom or top of a page without swipping throught the entire page.

No 3.1 update for me yet here in the UK on my wifi only XOOM ...but seemingly a market update perhaps ...

I now have a "Featured Tablet Apps" section on the homepage ... no means of filtering search results for tablet apps but its a start. I also have a "Books" tab in the market though still no app. All promising.

Oddly my XOOM also tried to download the latest google music beta app but it keeps failing I guess because I am not in the US.

Anyone else have similar results?
