Hi, I'm having problems with the connection listed in my HTC Touch Pro as "The Internet".
Am I right in assuming that selecting "The Internet" from the list of connections available when configuring email tells WM to use The default GPRS/3G connection if a Wifi connection is not available?
If so, I don't seem to be able to get consistent results with it, resulting in large roaming data fees when I think I should be using free wifi connection
This is what happens
I have 3 gmail accounts (2 hosted) which synchronize perfectly on my T-Mobile UK connection when that is selected as the Network Connection using the Email Setup wizard.
With Wifi switched on I need to have selected "The Internet", otherwise the accounts won't synchronize.
However, with Wifi off, if I choose "The Internet", more than 50% of the time the synchronization fails with "Cannot connect with your current...". - but not always!
So when I'm abroad in a hotel lobby I have to change the settings of each email account
(51 clicks in total) to "The Internet" only to find that if it drops the wifi signal, it attempts to use the T-Mobile connection & I end up with a huge bill again.
Am I doing something wrong?
Should "The Internet" work all the time?
Is it a problem with GMail?
Is there an easier way to change all the accounts quickly from one to the other?
Any help greatly appreciated
