The thing I like about iPhone's icons is that they are of the same size & shape.
Hence, they are pretty neat to look at and well organized on the device.

BUT I wouldn't like my Xperia to get any resemblance of an iPhone whatsoever.
Otherwise I loose it's uniqueness. And since I feel X1 is better than iPhone, why should I copy something inferior. (Hey, this is just me ok?)

So here's a shot at organizing Windows Mobile icons - color coded.
Each time you open a folder, you see a different color theme.

use hComber to change your current icons
or
try this new icon changer
(tested working on X1...highly recommended!)


this set is now used in Jack's ROM series for Xperia. try it!​

you can now customize your own icons.
with these templates, creating your icon is as easy as 1-2-3.


1.
choose a color of your liking & open the file in photoshop
2.
insert a clipart or logo inside the button
3.
resize the artwork to approx. 90x90 pixel @ 192dpi (for wvga) and save as png
(or 45x45px @ 96dpi for qvga)


viola!
you now have your own icon

(optional: add bevel & shadow to your cliparts for richer effect)

Great looking icons... Only complaint is: aren't the VGA/WVGA icons supposed to be 90x90 (for the WM6.5 start menu at least) and 45x45 for QVGA/WQVGA?

yup, you're right. but windows can automatically resize the file.
and from bigger to smaller, results in better resolution.
but if there's anything i'm violating, please advise.
