How can you use 800x800 pictures?
I've created my own welcomehead192.png but if I boot I only see half of the picture. The old Win6.1 "boot screen" is 800x800 too but was resized automatically.

Did I something wrong?

i love this one. did you fix it? if so can you post it please

ok one more :p. This one i made with inspiration from the latest windows 7 build 7068 which includes this imagery like on the welcome screen of windows 7... Sooo.. Yea.. Hehehe.

since the original, non-custom wm 6.5 boot screen hasn't been posted in this thread yet (and i haven't seen it anywhere else), i'm just gonna post the stock boot screen here in case anyone else wants it.

These are from the recently released official ms wm 6.5 emulators.

i made 2 really good bootscreens, but cant post it in full size. Use the zip file.
Hope you like them
Hi all

These are all great, good job by all. But there is where I become annoying :)

The image in the first quote, I was wondering, could someone please modify it so that it shows 6.1 instead?

Second request:

Thank you jjm34 for the link to the generic Windows 6.5 welcomehead image. If it is possible could someone please modify that image (the 192 one of course) and replace it with the W.M 6.1 logo found in austrianx1user's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4044604&postcount=67 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4044604&postcount=67] post / contribution [the white one]?

Thanks :D:cool:

This is a bootloader i made earlier, i've got the PSD if anyone wants to tweak it some more

** EDIT **

forgot to mention i'm using a JPG instead of a PNG. for this to work you need to modify the registry

I used CeRegEditor and changed

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\SPLASH SCREEN
CarrierBitmap From 'Welcomehead.192.png' to 'Welcomehead.192.jpg'
MSBITMAP from 'Welcomehead.192.png' to 'Welcomehead.192.jpg'

you could also change the file name of the bootloaded you wish to see so you don't have to keep replacing the origional

lol i didn't think my thread would hit off. over a year now.... so many questions... sorry for not sticking around :(

yes yes i'll make the black one more black. sorry hehe. yes yes i'll make ones that are 6.1 instead of 6.5 hehe. yes yes i know the grass isn't visible when booting. fail :( lol

what font did i use? microsoft uses Segoe UI but u have to set the spacing right and edge enhancement correctly if using photoshop. prior to Segoe UI, microsoft's standard was Franklin Gothic Medium and prior to that (like Windows 9x era) it was Franklin Gothic Black.
