Seeing how extremely thin our back cover is, the curvature, and the clips; I'd be inclined to say that wood is just not a viable material choice unless properly reinforced.

Their Iphone back covers look to be completely flat. I don't think this is practical. Zagg makes skins that look like wood for it...

I am not sure that it is actually a replacement back. I think it is a stick on but made of real wood. I actually had something like what I have described for my macbook.

Yeah, it's just a skin made of wood. Oh well, it's still a neat idea.
