This did not work for mine as it's set to 1000, it just won't go passed 80 percent

Changing that 990/800/1000 number isn't necessarily what your charge is.

1000 does NOT equal 100% charge, as if you listen to the OP, you need to find YOUR 80% charge value, then multiply by 1.2.

My 80% charge value was 990, and that times 1.2 is: 1188.

But, like I was saying, 1188 does NOT equal your charge amount.

PLEASE install CPU-Z by CPUID or CPU X that has a green computer chip for the icon and choose the battery tab and then post here your Remaining Charge value that is in mV.

Stop posting anything else until we get more data please.

Yep, same here. Setting it to 1200 does nothing. Still discharging.

I am not sure if it matters because this thread is for the S8, but I have the note 8 and every time I try to complete these instructions, my phone crashes! It goes to a screen saying "[upload mode] subsystem crashed" I am using ubuntu gnome, any ideas?
