Hi. I may get shot now for asking, but is it possible to get root working on Emui 10? I am currently rooted on 9.1 and don't see it worth upgrading if I can't root my phone :). Unless it exists an Adblocker that works as good as AdAway without root :p
And yes, I have searched for this answer, but the only thing I can find is that you can't unlock bootloader in early stages of emui 10.

I got my Mate 20 Pro a few days back and later, to my surprise, found that it is nearly impossible to get its bootloader unlocked for custom ROMs etc. Very disappointing from HUawei

Now my only option is to update the firmware via external storage but can somebody suggest me that whether or not official OTA updates in future would get blocked after updating my firmware manually using this method?

I need to be sure about future OTA updates before i'm gonna update my firmware manually.

Please suggest.

OTA will never be blocked if you updated via any type of external storage. I agree with unlocking BL and root etc2. Great phone, bad developer support. That's Huawei for you.

I got this message in RED while trying to upgrade to EMUI 10 (firmware downloaded from the link provided in this thread).

I'm coming from 9.1.0.0.347 and tried using upgrading using USB (OGT) but got stuck here after system finished installing the EMUI 10.

Could anyone please suggest me how to restore 9.1.0.346 or 9.1.0.0.347.

I cant boot into the OS and my device has become useless :(
