The LMC 8.4
I'm using different XML from @JavaSabr , updating everytime there was a new version.

You can read in the picture name which version I used
Thanks for your answer, appreciated.

But which version of LMC 8.4 are you using ? I saw "ruler" and "scan3d" variants. But following the tutorial, I installed the "aweme" version.

Which one are you guys recommend to me ?

And yes, I'm also using v48 sharp from Javasabr

Thanks

The package you use has no influence on the quality of the pictures. Only the XML will matter. You can use any of these 3 versions to have different ports at the same time. For example I use ruler for lmc, scan3d for AGC and aweme for Sgcam. If you use the actual Samsung ruler then you'd have to settle for one of the other 2 packages. Etc

I'm using
SGCAM_8.4.400.42.XXX_STABLE_V43_AWEME_PACKAGE.apk
I just installed it but can you please tell me what to do after that ?

I noticed it is a bit different than LMC. And when I extract v48 XML from Java, i don't know where to save it.
Same thing for the LIB directory, it's empty. In LMC I had for example the Matteo22D,...

Could you please help me step by step to have the same you are using ?

Thanks a lot !

Ok, so I understand LMC 8.4 R15 and SGCAM are different ?

I asked Fl1nt91 and first told me that he's using LMC 8.4 but then send me the name of the SGCAM... I'm new to all of this and I feel lost now.

If someone can make a step by step, it would be greatly appreciated!

And congratulations to all the modders for their job !

Yes, you have different devs doing different ports of GCAM (SGCAM, LMC, AGC, etc.) and then you have those that create configs for each port.

Saber did a config for LMC which is very mature, with installation steps found here:

Surfer has done a config for AGC which is also very mature and can be found here:

They're both good, using good GCAM ports. Try both and see which you prefer. They output slightly different styles of pictures though globally, especially if you don't zoom in, they will look very similar. Up to you to decide which one fits your needs.

since you are using the shamim mod, is there a reason you are not using the latest 8.7 version and have you tried the hasli lmc to see if the configs work the same on both?
I had tried loading Saber's LMC 8.4 config on SGCAM 8.4 and it crashes. Guessing it wouldn't work with 8.7 either. I'm not sure what value 8.7 brings over 8.4 but since 8.4 is at v45, it's most likely more stable than 8.7 v4. From what the devs have said, 8.8 will be a good version to update to eventually as google has made some things easier for devs to create ports and we should see some extra value out of that one.

Thanks a lot for your complete answer !

I just installed SGCAM, and using their built-in XML "S23ULTRAN".

Does anyone of you knows the best XML config for SGCAM ?

Thanks

I'm completely confused. Now you are talking about SGCam ? , it's not LMC or AGC. And I think no, the config files for LMC are not working on SGCam. ? Because it's different versions of GCams. Right?
Its the result from the question from vincanity6820, but with respect, he could have read some posts before in this thread and no questions like this.

Actually the very first post is about Sgcam and the matteo lib. Which actually works and was the very first working config. It's easier for us that have been there from the start to keep up with the 47 pages of conversation. Can't blame someone coming in to start by following the instructions of the first post!

That bee one is quite impressive! Thanks for the info :)
I dont get it - a dark, blurry, out of focus photo from a 200mp camera on a month old device in broad daylight is impressive ? Its appalling, it looks like a bad pic from a 10 year old phone, the other photos are good tho.

I really hope this forthcoming camera update improves the s23u, cos so far its pretty disappointing, I ve never had a camera phone with such inconsistent results. I know the wide angle lens is pathetic (especially the ridiculously low resolution), but I had high hopes for the main sensor even if the pixels are a bit small. Only the 10x zoom camera stands out (and thats mainly down to the lens rather than the sensor). In the hundreds of pictures I ve taken EVERY configuration has won at some point - AGC, stock 12mp, stock 50mp, stock 200mp, ProRaw 12mp, ProRaw 50mp (yes stock, even if the results are usually over saturated and over sharpened), and even dark and blurry LMC/Javasabr which, ironically, seems to excell in low light (no disrespect @JavaSabr, I know you do it to your taste). Theyve all scored wins, but very rarely has any been particularly impressive. The only exception is stock night mode - if its virtually pitch black (a room at night with only a little ambient light, outside with no street lighting )it ll get an impressive picture, yes it ll be quite yellow and it wont win any awards for looking natural, but it ll get you a usable picture from almost total darkness, easily beating GCAM, which was a surprise as historically this was GCAM's specialty. I even had one situation in low light where I could nt see a single difference between the 12mp and 50mp pics from stock, not minimal, difference, zero difference, so much for binning. Every time I see a picture taken with my previous Mi 10 Pro (using AGC) I think I ve made a bad decision getting this phone.

As for using 50mp and 200mp mode in GCAM, AFAIK native resolution in GCAM has only been managed on the Redmi K20, Mi 9T and Mi 10u and apparently some manufacturers hide native resolution from 3rd party apps, although seeing as this is the first phone with "chameleonCELL" binning (3 available resolutions) youd have thought theyd make at least 50mp available, but until that happens (and lets hope it does ASAP) we re stuck with inconsistent low res 12mp photos that often just dont cut it.

That was a very long rent, mostly unrelated to gcam. It's fine if you feel none of the work here has value to you. There are many options, including stock. I'm not going to take time to say why I thought it was a good pic from a 10x lens. Hopefully you didn't sell your old phone and can go back to it and comment on that phones xda thread instead.

I think you mean rant , not rent.
Apologies if it was from the 10x lens, pretty sure it wasnt mentioned in the post, missed it if it was, I m not the only person to have the same opinion about that pic tho....still, it is pretty blurry.
Not sure why you just quoted the bit about that pic if your reply was in relation to my whole post.
My opinions are NOT "mostly unrelated to gcam", ithere are related to the phone cameras as a whole and how even GCAM gets inconsistent results just like stock does. Seen similar posts to that effect in this thread too.
I m guessing from the tone of your reply that you were one of the development engineers on the s23u and thats why you seem so offended in response to a negative opinion or one that isnt the same as yours ? Not sure why you havent responded in the same way to others who ve posted less than favourable opinions of this device's cameras (so far ie with very few software updates....yet)
Been posting in threads about my current phones on XDA for 16 years, dont plan on stopping anytime soon, this is a forum and all opinions, negative or positive are allowed.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Hi, it is possible, but a real pain to implement because of the 'ID lens logic' used for this specific mode. It would also be quite clunky and would make the app instantly crash if this special lens ID (used by Photosphere) is activated in normal photo mode. I also never use Photosphere, so I have more than limited interest adding it...

Anyway, here is a custom profile ONLY to be used for Photosphere mode. As soon as you will load it, app will crash, so you will have to long-press the app icon and start it in video mode, then load this custom photosphere profile, then start Photosphere mode. Clunky, but at least it seems Photosphere can start normally. Not sure about the results though.
Strange that both ACG and LMC behave that way but MCG does not.

I see more detail with the stock software to be honest. Example: the New south Wales is easier to make out on the license plate on the vehicle in front of the Bimmer.
The BMW logo on the center cap is also clearer with stock software.
I believe the New south Wales font you've mentioned is because that its actually out of focus in the raw file since the aperture is really big on main lens, that gcam didnt know how to properly sharpen it since its not optimize for this camera at all.
But if you look the in focus area, stock camera was lack of detail and kinda look like painting, include the center cap you mentioned. Many source said that samsung didnt use the method that iphone 14 pro used which is cropping the 48MP main sensor to capture 2X photos, that allows the phone to use a whole 12MP to capture the scene.
I assume that samsung just using the 1X 12MP photo and crop it to 2X(so the photo only has 6MP) and then upscale to 12MP again using AI or some algorithm, thus why the poor quality.
I'm looking these on a pc with a monitor, here are some 100% zoom for compare.

Rims been deformed and lack of detail on center cap, fake detail on tires.

Some sample from my recent trip.

Probably is not the best photo quality on the market, but using the Gcam overall I'm very satisfied of the incredibile versatility.
Plus the device is all around the best you can find.

I did many test gcam 12mpx vs stock 50mpx and 200mpx, and i can say that most of the time high res stock is useless. Details are similar or even better with gcam at 12mpx.
