Do you have good config with both lens support + 64MP?
I did not change just nothing parameters, only jpeg to 100%. I use hdr+ always so 64 mpix is not supported. I think that 64 mpix is supported only with the original camera only without hdr+. I have Shamim 8.4 and Wicaya 8.1 both in my Zenfone 8. I use Wicaya with extremely low light condition, Shamim moderate low light and the original camera in normal day light.

Tweaked to my preferences but no libpatcher tweaks. 64P working as well.

hi i have problem with vide when i turn on video stabilization i have only green color on record
Same here with Wichaya 8.1.101 on LOS 18.1, no gapps but Gcam service provider basic from F-Droid.
And tapping slow motion crashes the app. Everything else seems to work fine, thanks to all developers and contributors!

It's such a shame that Shamim's cam has subpar night sight (and crashing portrait/slo-mo modes in the later updates, at least on A11) else it would be the perfect GCam for our phone. Best to keep Wichaya's cam around for that (and hopefully, he can give us a version of 8.4 that grants us the best of both worlds).

That said, the issue with 64MP can be fixed by going to Advanced>Select Sensor Size and changing the wide lens to RAW16.

Alternatively, you could just load my config.

Hi, I hope this is the correct place to post this request:

I'm using the latest GCam and Config from Wichaya on my Zenfone 8 (Android 12). I'd like to adjust the default HDR+ Enhanced settings to increase the exposure, shadow detail and white balance slightly.

Is there any guide to the Ram Patcher settings that I need to adjust?

Thanks.

I've been using Wichaya's GCam on my Zenfone 8 for a few months and playing around with the Ram Patcher settings. The Asus stock camera gives better results which have more "pop", are accurately exposed, have way more shadow detail and often have better colour than this GCam. The GCam shots are too dark, lack shadow detail and often have a slight magenta cast.

The Asus camera over-sharpens most of the image and smoothes highlight detail. Unfortunately Asus doesn't provide any way to adjust the sharpening. I prefer the more natural look of the Wichaya GCam and have managed to alter some RamPatcher settings to make it look closer to the Asus camera results.

I have also tried the Shamim SGCam on my Zenphone 8. At the default settings the pictures look similar to Wichaya's with my customised Ram Parcher settings, but they're even more over-sharpened than the Asus camera and give foliage a flattened 2D feel. I haven't found a way to reduce the sharpening so I won't be using it.

The differences between pictures shot with these three cameras are hardly noticeable on a phone screen, and may not make that much difference seen on a laptop but I'm a photographer and prefer the more natural look of the Wichaya GCam. I'm still playing about with the Ram Patcher settings and trying to get better results.

I haven't found any guide to adjusting Wichaya's Ram Patcher settings and differet Mods use different parameters - I hope Wichaya can make a brief guide sometime.

At the moment I use the Asus stock camera for family snaps, etc, and the Wichaya GCam (Jpeg + RAW) for shots that I'd like to process and get the best from.

I've attached shots from each camera that you can compare to see what suits you.

Thank you for the comparison. Did you apply SGCAM_8.4.400.42.XX_V24FIX.xml config for Shamim?

Hi Dave, SGCAM_8.4.400.42.XX_V24FIX.xml would appear to be a fix for V24, so I would expect V25 would have integrated it - perhaps this explains why it isn't available on Shamim's GCam Hub page?
Hi Tom, xml config is not incluided in apk. It's name is v24fix because apk version name's was v24fix. Xml config include custom settings for custom phones. SGCAM_8.4.400.42.XX_V24FIX.xml was created for ZF8

Hi Dave, I had another look here at Shamim's changelog: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-shamim/f/dl15/...

V25 "...may be the final build based on gcam 8.4.400..." and replaces v24FIX.

There's no mention of (or a download link to) a xml file to be used with V25.

However, if there is any info from Shamim about using a any config xml for V25 I'd be grateful if you could send me a link. Thanks.

Hey, Tom,
I'm afraid you still don't understand what xml configuration files are used for. It is clear that the xml file mentioned is not on the Shamim camera download site, as it was created by one of the users of this forum specifically for ZF8. Just as you are trying to find the optimum settings for Gcam and RamPatcher, he has tried to do so and saved the result of his efforts as the above mentioned file. It can be downloaded from the link https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/what-other-gcam-mod-works-on-zenfone-8.4467013/post-87135311 as mentioned in one of the previous posts. Admittedly it is not the configuration for the latest V25, but I still think it should work. If you don't know how to upload the configuration file, double click on the blank space between the trigger and mode switch. Of course, before you do that, you need to upload the configuration file to the correct folder - here specifically SGCAM\XML

I tried the gcam and many of the mods mentioned in this thread, imo, the stock camera was almost always better. Not worth the effort tbqh.

I have created a folder with various photos from the Zenfone 8 taken on the stock camera and on the gcam.
You're welcome to take a look and compare by yourself - all data and an easy way to differentiate the cameras is the "info" where gcam has PXL_ in name and stock has P_

    Comments on album are welcome.

In my opinion the stock camera is generally better and produces more true to life outcome. It is a little bit to bright and the sharpness in details is a little to big. You can see that only by zooming in. This can be overcome by shooting 64MP which happens quick but the size is bigger.

    Asus with GCam, night mode:
    View attachment 5331241

I would say GCam is for now useless for night mode, better to use stock. Stock night mode is worse than actually using a Pixel, but, by doing automatic photo adjustments it ends up usable.
This is due to exposure limit at 1/10 maximum from stream config. By default it was set to EIS V3
To fix this you need to change stream to EIS V2 for both wide and ultra wide back camera.
This allow to shoot much longer exposure for night mode and astrophotography up to 40 seconds
For front camera, keep stream config set to EIS V3.
I will set these stream config as default setting in the next version.

Edit: For 64mp mode. We have to wait Asus release an update to fix raw buffer resolution limitation. They recently fixed for Rog Phone 5. The new update didn't address this isue as of now

There's a new update from Wichaya, he added noise model from ZF8 ultrawide and front:

    - GCam_8.1.101_Wichaya_V1.6 (Wichaya, 2022-08-12, configs)

Configs from v1.5 should work fine on v1.6.

I need help for front camera, it stucks.

    Change stream config to EISV2.

    Thanks you bro!!

Now I must give permission for read XML (attached). I successfully had possibility to have both cameras working. I need maybe more help about how to set it in the best way 😁
