I had been using 7.3.010. I tried 7.3.018 per your recommendation but this version crashes as soon as I go into settings.

Don't care about motion photo, so that's fine.

Oh I noticed youre on a s10e

Try out some configs with 7.2 https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/configs-urnyx-01/ under s10 configs

Is there a best version for the S20?

How's the stock camera? Is it not good enough?

---------- Post added at 04:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ----------

Now with Wide Angle Camera Support!
All credits go to Arnova8G2, CStark, Fizwiz, Xenius9, Urnyx05

Benefits:
Gcam offers less aggressive noise reduction and oversharpening. Under daylight things might not look too different but it's a lot better for low light, especially for finer details like carpets, hair, fabric texture. I've attached some comparison shots. The file names will indicate which camera was used for the pictures.

Regarding 6.1 vs 6.2 vs 7.0 vs 7.2:
6.1 could be more stable and allows you to save profiles that you can swap between (for instance if you have a setting for indoor and outdoor). However 6.2 is faster, possibly better processing algorithms. 7.0 is faster still and even better algorithms. 7.0+ also ads astrophotography option which is night sight but even better! 7.2 works on Android 10 only and should improve upon 7.0.

GCAM 6.1.0.021 Base
Download Arnova's Advanced 1.7 here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/
then download the XML config attached to this post.
Instructions for applying the XML file can be found here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (settings > Samsung CameraAPI2 > toggle "Switch to 2.4f aperture)
- Motion photo (have to use google photos as gallery and only limited to 1080p resolution)
- Night Sight
- Portrait mode
- Wide angle camera (hold the toggle camera button to switch between wide and regular rear cameras, press to switch between rear camera and front camera)

GCAM 6.2.030 Base
Download Arnova's Advanced 2.2 here: https://xdaforums.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=31714
Go to Settings > About > Enable Advanced Features
Settings > Enable AUX
Settings > HDR+ Control > Image Format > YUV_420_888
Quality HDR+ > Super High
Custom Libs > Eszdman v3 Beta
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight
- Portrait mode
- Wide angle camera (toggle button at the bottom left)

GCAM 7.0.009 Base
Download Xenius9's GCam_4.0.191101.0729build-7.0.009_x9_s9s_mod_0.43.apk here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12qfHQ-oq4vrHCWFkNaP6lNHMoDB31SNy
To enable astrophotography, go to settings, developer settings and make sure nightsight.extended_tripod and nightsight.extended_iterable_burst is enabled.

What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight (with Astrophotography)
- Portrait mode

GCAM 7.2.010 Base for Android 10
Download Urynx05's gcam mod here: https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=81499445&postcount=1197
then download the XML config here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/01/s10_snap.xml
Instructions for applying the XML file can be found here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/

What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight (Astrophotography can be enabled but max shutter is only like 2 seconds, not enough for stars)
- Portrait mode
- Wide Angle Camera

More development info can be found in the original app page.

Thank you! Would be cool if you pick a permanent spot to take photos so you can compare the changes in image quality across stock and gcam versions

Nope, too many issues with bugs and lower quality than the stock app so I begrudgingly went back to using the stock photo app.

Yeah, I'm currently working on my own config, playing with Lib Patcher. No bugs except for aperture switching not working. Weirdest thing is it works on my dad's S10e lol. Must be the version, don't remember what version I installed on his.

I installed GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1 on my G9700 (S10e) today and used this config file. Seems to work pretty well, although I had to manually add the toggle for the wide angle lens. I haven't done any testing yet comparing GCam to the stock camera but I'm hoping GCam is superior because the stock app forces the use of Samsung's Gallery app, which I don't want to use.

EDIT: I had a play around with the two cameras yesterday. I had "HDR (rich-tone)" and "Scene optimiser" enabled for SCam and "HDR+ enhanced" enabled for GCam during these photos. I haven't resized any of these but the forum will have recompressed them. I didn't use the flash and they were all during evening light.
1) Park scene. GCam vastly superior. SCam is a blury mess with nasty edge enhancement all over the place.
2) Street scene. SCam looks sharper due to the edge enhancement, e.g. the road sign. It's also more contrasty but loses details (e.g. some bricks on right building). GCam doesn't pop as much here.
3) Window scene. SCam again is more contrasty and the colours of the roofs are more accurate, but shadows are very muddy. GCam has far more detail and is more realistic, but the colours differences are squashed and there is a bit more noise.

Overall, it seems that GCam retains more detail and noise whereas SCam tends to apply heavy filtering that can make things look sharper but also scrubs out detail. SCam's HDR seems to retain more contrast, whereas GCam's HDR lets you see more detail in the shadows and highlights (and also looks more like what my eyes could see at the time).

Downsides
I've discovered two pretty big downsides to GCam on S10e (SD):
1) The default camera app can't actually be changed in the OS and GCam can't be opened without unlocking the phone like SCam can, so SCam is the only option for quick-draw photos when the phone is locked.
2) In 16:9 mode, the viewfinder/preview is far more zoomed in than the actual photo that gets taken. I prefer to take 16:9 photos since practically every monitor and TV is 16:9 but with this bug I can't. Maybe this can be fixed in the GCam config file?

GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1 works fine on S10e Snapdragon.

Haven't tried v2.2 but heard it was broken for some people.

Ever since the update to One UI 2.5 recently, I cant get any of the Gcams working correctly. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the cams and clearing cache everywhere. With 7.3 I cant get the front facing camera to work and with 7.2 I cant even load up the camera it just crashes. Anyone have a working gcam after the One UI 2.5 update and which one works for you? Is there a config file thats best for 7.3 to get the front facing cam to work?

Using the stock snapdragon U.S. Unlocked S10+ on VZW.

UPDATE: I haven't really followed this thread since I don't have an S10 anymore, however, just a heads up telephoto now works with the Snapdragon S10/Note 10 series and Gcam! Gcam can be downloaded in my S20 thread here: https://xdaforums.com/t/gcam-working-with-s20-ultra-telephoto.4200277/

Thanks a lot for the update. Which one do you like better 6.1 v1.6 or 6.2 v2.2 beta?

Just updated the OP again. 6.2 is updated and no longer beta. Wide and normal cameras work great, no more crashing, and even motion photos now work! I highly recommend the latest 6.2.

I applied the configuration files here to the Note 9 and got rid of the yellow or green tint with Night Sight.

Gotta add.....night sight Gcam is so good on the S10+ its a glaring difference. I really hope Samsung improves the software for this and the upcoming Note 10. Took this testing night sight on my front lawn. My tree is starting to bloom and seeing the buds so colorfully with the Gcam mod versus Samsung auto lowlight/night feature there's a defining difference and portrait mode versus live focus is dramatic as well. While I love the cllor.pop feature and other options from love focus the standard bokeh is dramatic.
