[WORKS!] recovery-working I500 kernel!

Well odin is new to me, so I apologize for my ignorance. I installed it, then downloaded and extracted the captivate file, added .tar, and flashed it with odin. No recovery. Pulled down rom manager and tried to reboot into recovery, no dice. Rebooted and told rom manager to flash the recovery for fascinate, no dice. Told rom manager to flash recovery for captivate, no dice. Repeated the process with the cwm download file, no dice. What am I missing here?

what do you mean no recovery? hmm the first reply's guy seems to be managed to get in to recovery. What's going on?

I'll give you a way.

1. download this kernel.

2. open ODIN

3. turn off the device and get it into DOWNLOAD mode

4. connect to PC

5. load the zImage.tar in PDA

6. press start. it should be finished in 3 secs.

Now check if the recovery works or not.

for some reason the zimage wont load into odin for me i dont know what im doing wrong it keeps coming up with a error when i try to load it into PDA any advice?

Im currently testing this / creating packages for what works and what doesnt for Odin install. If you dont know how to repackage this and flash it, please hold off as this can / will brick your phone if you dont know what you are doing.

I know. I'm fairly suicidal when it comes to playing with my phone though.
