Worth $400 new as a secondary/work phone?

I can get a T-Mobile one for $400 new plus the SBH20 headset for free from Sony's site (combination of corporate perks discount, Sony credit card offer, and Sony rewards points). I'm wondering if there's any reason I shouldn't pick it up, especially at that price.

I'd be using it as a secondary/work phone - meaning mostly limited to phone calls, texts, and minor web stuff like calendar appointments. I already have a Z Ultra so I don't need anything as big or high-tech (like the Note 3), and the screen/size is fine for me having seen and held it in person. I figure mostly it'd be a nice compliment to my Ultra.

Thoughts? I've owned a S4 Mini and HTC One, and played around with a regular S4 a lot and wasn't particularly impressed. My choices beyond that are limited, considering I need it to work on T-Mobile US and don't want to spend too much on this phone.

There's also some low-end phone like the Xperia M or L I could get that should be compatible with T-Mobile 4G (not LTE), but then I don't get the nice specs or build quality.

I think you answered your own question.
I love the phone, it's perfect for anything you want.

Personally I wouldn't bother if it's only for a second phone, the Ultra is more than meaty enough for everything you could want and even better is that when you get home, are waiting for the bus, having lunch at your desk etc...you can watch films or tv on that big ass Ultra screen.

So I'm still waiting for my Sony card to come in to order the phone, but now I just caught wind of the Xperia Z1 "f"/Mini, which is a beast at only 4.3" in size...I'm considering waiting for that, even if it'd be more expensive, since that way I'll always have a really good camera with me.

I dunno, I'll gut out my HTC G2 and use that until I get a release date on that new Z1, and see pricing as well as LTE bands (if any).

I'm also thinking about that, and considering just going with an Xperia M or L, since that'd only be like $100 after my discounts and whatnot. I just don't want too weak of a phone or too bad of a screen that I won't be able to use outdoors.

To be honest once Sony release their next handset or two, 'older' handsets like the Z, ZR, ZL etc are going to start dropping prices pretty rapidly. You might be able to pick up something in the low to mid range of the Z handsets.

See what the market ends up like :p
