quadrant is really a terrible indicator of just about anything
It's just an observation. I don't know a benchmark that truly tests the performance of my phone without others saying it doesn't accurately represent figures. As stated in the OP, linpack MFLOPS were lowered by about half since I used it on EB01. Also, SetCpu short bench wasn't as promising as EB01. That's why I like to use benchmarks from multiple applications since just one isn't enough. Even with mostly lower benchmarks, my phone still feels faster overall probably due to less bugs.

Am I lacking Voodoo color and sound on EB01? Yes. Do I miss them? Absolutely. Would I ever miss them enough that I would be even remotely tempted to go back to Eclair? HECK no! I already had to do that once when moving from a KaosFroyo Eris to the stock Fascinate. Never, ever again. Only looking forward from here, and can't wait for a stable and reasonably functional Kaoscinate CM7 rom. :)

if you guys feel the need to use eclair, then by all means
I'm using eclair because froyo was too buggy and the sleep of death bothered the **** out of me. Further, the built in screen shot system took pictures every time i tried locking my phone. Finally, franken kernel allows me to charge non oem batteries while in my phone. Some people actually have valid reasons to use older versions and care less about flash support or apps2sd.

Believe me, if/when samsung ever releases source, I will jump back to froyo but until then dj05 just works better.

You need to use odin for the modem.. And must use PDA button to flash it

i may try this...

is the battery life really that great?
It's waaaay better than EB01. On EB01 I was losing about 7-12% per hour even with screen off not using phone during classes and such. Now I'm getting 3-5% per hour normal usage texting, browsing, xda app, engadegt and 1-2% per hour while screen off. Going on 10 hours right now and I'm at 72% with screen on full brightness.

are you saying i need to odin the modem first? i completely bricked my phone doing this....
If you aren't familiar with how to install roms/modems why are you doing this. It was suggested in the OP that only people that are proficient with flashing should try this. I feel terrible now :(.

If you enabled voodoo please PM me.

If you never enabled voodoo, do this:

Assuming you already have Odin installed, take your battery out and hold the volume down while plugging in the USB cable from your computer and it should put your phone in download mode. You'll see a big yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. Then follow this thread below.

Stock DJ05, not rooted.

Fix my horrible battery life, bad reception and less than stellar performance then you can say something.

And don't try to feed me "its your fault , you did something wrong" bs . Its the rom it blows.

Lol as I type this on sfc2.9 :p .... I can't wait to have my battery life back :D

I had to flash back to Di01 the other day cause I really hosed up my phone. I didn't have the time to get everything back up to superclean, so just ran with it bone stock for a day...

I got almost 13 hours of heavy use whereas I usually only get 8 and a half to 9 tops on SC 2.9.1 with heavy use.
Of course the lag kept annoying me all day...

Personally, adryns last Superclean DL09 was my fave rom of all time...

I had a killer gb theme, and this browser I got from somewhere with a killer rounded looking screen.

What's so good about them? Are they better than voodoo? what do they do differently?
