is there an otficial article somewhere outlining how wp8, windows8, surface will all use the same apps?
For developers, Windows Phone 8 will finally bridge the gap between desktop, tablet, and phone development, and though the version of the WinRT APIs that Phone will use differ somewhat from those on Windows 8/RT, they’re close enough that creating apps for each, and reusing a ton of code, should be fairly straightforward. Windows Phone 8 will also provide access to native C and C++ code for the first time, providing a way to more easily port between iOS, Android, Windows, and Windows Phone.
The new apps for Windows 8 (not windowing/desktop apps) and apps for WinRT and the new apps for WP8 will share code between platforms. Current WP7 apps will run on WP8.

oooook, that was fairly conflicting. apparently code will be similar, but not one-app-for all.

well, I guess they'll have it sorted by windows phone 9.x

You guys are proving my point, sharing code. sharing code is one thing, actually sharing apps cross platform is another. Unless you lock yourself into a Microsoft world sort of like Apple.

When I say cross platform, I'm not talking about the third screen aka smart glass, which will be accessible for all platforms by the way.

I call it vaporware because what they are talking about doing is already done on other platforms.

I thought they were going to combine everything, take this app to this tablet, play this game on your tablet against your friends on his pc or Xbox.

But they've only introduced cloud connections from what I can see.

1) start a flame war, please go somewhere else.
2) make a valid point, please inform yourself.

There are a lots of reasons people are going from WP to Android and why are people spitting on WP.
Want to know more, there is a site called Google and xda. Heard of them?

I agree about 1) but you are not helping with your spitting comment.

Edit: I still do not understand why Android users keep open these kind of threads in a windows phone section as I can not find anything similiar in Android section.

I mean, the first post is and Android Tribute, the second post a provocation and the 3rd post a tribute to the tribute and to the provocation.

Android users can joke around and say that one is dead and the other living but when some wp7 fan plays with the butter joke, he is starting a flame war!

You are right, If I chose WP7 like my main mobile platform it is because I don't like iOS neither Android (I have a Huawei Ideos Tablet With Android 2.2) and because I really think WP will be successfull in a near future.

It is irrelevant that Android is a great or bad platform in a WP subforum.

1) I've been coming to these forums since 2006 and you have the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else? If you've been here as long as I have, you would understand the frustration. This used to be a forum of brilliant minds that helped each other with a common goal - to make our devices function better. Now it's just a forum where fandroids think they are the gods of everything mobile and can bash other peoples' chosen OS at any given moment. If you love Spamdroid so much, why don't you stay in the Spamdroid forums instead of telling me to leave?!?

2) dotcompt said it nicely. See his quote above. Therefore, I suggest you inform yourself, first. You say you're intention was just to compare both OS's features, blah, blah, blah, but then go on to bash WP8 and tiles and whatever else you said. You said something negative about Windows Phone and I was supposed to sit back and stay quiet. I said something about Spamdroid, and all of a sudden, I'm flaming. Please stop with the childish behavior.

Moderators, please close this thread. For how much longer do we have to tolerate childish fandroids in the Windows Phone 7 forum?
