Restoring bricked SD

can the sd card be formatted back to fat32/ntfs after wp7 has formatted it? Heard that it locks the sd card??

Ricey
I had this problem. First and the best solution is to find a friend with a Nokia symbian phone like N8. Insert the card into the phone, press cancel when it attempts for unclock code. Then use tools menu to reformat. Get along well with that friend if you ever plan to flash WP7 again.

I am working on the second solution which is keeping the same card in the HD2 when flashing Android to NAND. MAGLDR recognizes the card and creates a 200 MB partition on it. So this is your new capacity. Furthermore my win7 can see and even format the card as USB drive when running Android. My point is, if the system recognizes the card, which means it can bypass the "Secure Digital" locking mechanism, then SD is not "secured" anymore and we should be able to format it to the proper capacity just as we do for the preset 200MB. If my judgement is right, this can be done as an option in MAGLDR menu.

what about a original card from HTC? it's not working?
well i brought my phone unlocked off internet and came with a sandisk 2gb micro SD. I 1st installed on that and my phone froze on wp7 then kept rebooting. I then tried on a 1gb sandisk micro sd which is what im currently using and works perfectly apart from not enough space for apps or music ! and sometimes even texts ! :p i dont know how to find out what class the cards are tho. it dosent say anywhere on the cards that i have
