WP7 on HD2 [Cotulla Development status preview]

When I read the gobbleygook that no current phone would have the hardware to run Winmo7, I was disappointed with my 6.5 HD2 investment. Now with spec sheets (link removed due to green status, but the tmobile website has the HD7 specs) showing that the HD7 (among other winmo7 phones) are basically the same as my HD2, I'm happy that I can at least hope to get it up and running on my current phone, tiding me over until some fancier hardware actually comes out at the end of my contract.

As for the authenticity of the video, I don't know who he is, but everyone else here does and even if highly doctored or dolled up, it proves that the resident winmo genius is at least working on it, so that's still good news.

So. What about Winmo7 has you guys excited?

Wow...nice. Question since T-mobile is CDMA, could an HD2 work on Verizons network??? if So I think I may be in the market for one if this pans out

Not sure if anyone has already said this but according to Engadget the new phones are now using the MSM8250 snapdragon and not the QSD8250 found on the LEO. Looking at Qualcomms spec sheet it looks like there's some definite improvements in the Adreno GPU. I'm not sure how much of a performance gap there will be but.....

After looking at some amazing pics and videos of the gaming capability of the Windows Phone 7 i'm starting to wonder how much of a hit the LEO will take when running these intense 3D games........ but i guess first things first, get a basic working port

HD2 runs Ubuntu and Win95 IIRC. So tp2 can suck it.

How does it work re not been open source ? Would M$ have a problem with us sharing it around ?

Phone7 needed better hardware to shake us off what we had on this early OS. And with them bringing it out with the same GPU/CPU as HD2 is against what they had always said.... Go Cotulla, lets get this landed and ill have your baby. lol

There's no such thing as Winmo7. That project/product was killed about 2 years ago.

hehe its real but now just working with HTC HD2 , test T-Mobile HD2 had little problem need to work some driver
