Write access to ext SD card is lost after platform.xlm is properly modified

I followed all instructions from XDA carefully and set rw_r_r right for the file after modification.
After rebooting I lost access to SD card even for native apps. Photos, My files - nothing can write to SD anymore . Still I can read it.
The new edited version platform.xlm is still there and is not reversed back to its original state
Going back to the original state of platform.xlm didn't help either - no write access for anything even what had access before.
Tried SDFix and FolderMount - both suggested they fixed the problem but still no write access.

Please give me a hint.
