lozor check this out from Nvidia (been a couple days since I emailed them):

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for the update,

Your case is being escalated to our Level 2 Technical Support group. The Level 2 agents will review the case notes and will contact you as soon they can to assist or point you in the right direction.

Best Regards,
NVIDIA Customer Care

(this was regarding me asking about if they knew how to access APX mode or how i could use NVFlash with sony tab s - first response was a bust, so I did a follow up email and this is the response so far)

today again i've entered apx mode.
i've installed nvflash for tegra devices.
again (3rd time) when I try to load bootloader.bin it gives me:
Code:
nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --getpartitiontable partitiontable.txt
Nvflash started
rcm version 0X4
Command send failed (usb write failed)
Anybody has some experience with apx mode,
if I will get again apx mode, then I would like to know
what would work better, then gives error and exits apx..

I know that in Asus transformer the nvflash.exe was leaked and had a special miniloader inside, beside the bootloader.bin which was also encrypted and the transfer process had a special key called SBK.
That means unless Sony fooled around, you need their nvflash and the SBK code.
Without those things its rcm version 0X4 all the way down.

Can you share what the process which got you into the mode?

hmm... don't know how to exactly enter apx mode. Its not concerned in any button-combination etc. Its related to some 'signal' to bootloader/automagic app(s), etc, and after few unexpected reboots (which maybe broke some processes working/loggers?) it just enters in apx...

the most I got it when rooting (unsuccesfully) device.
i modified .bat file which just reboots device in loop,
copy it to 'Sony Tablet Root Tool v1.1' and give it a try.
I've succesfully entered apx mode with it - but only on first time,
once, i runed it, got out of room, came back after ~10-15min,
and my tab was in apx mode.
Then I tried again and it didn't work.

Just give it a try. Download, and cut '.txt' extension.

I just got into APX mode on accident. I was messing around with my tab bringing it into stock recovery by holding power and volume up. When I entered into recovery mode I accident pressed power and volume down simultaneously then all of a sudden I went into apx mode. I have tired duplicating the process multiple times and have been unsuccessful. For whatever reason I was stuck in APX so I held the power button down which seemed to be at least a minute and the tablet booted up. Not sure if I discovered anything new but thought I would share.

Other driver state. 'Android Accessory Interface'.

Hi,

I'm not making new thread, posting here.
I was always thinking why sony tab switches driver state in some kind,
on boot - just run tab connected to pc - first state will be 'Sony Tablet S'
without driver, like 'unrecognized device' for a moment, then it switches to mtp (+adb optional if enabled). Now I know what it is.

I found a way to go to 'that state'. Its 'Android Accessory Interface'.
I dont have drivers for it currently.
I don't know if it will be useful for us, but every discovery is worth to be published ;)

So, just run adb and put this command:

Code:
echo '1' > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/accessory/enable

It will only work if Sony uses that same method to generate the SBK. You can test it in APX mode with "nvflash --bl bootloader.img --sbk 0x0C8D6F00 0x0433F601 0x6B5C1203 0xD9292103 --sync". If it works, it will spit out a bunch of chip data. If not, you will get a write error.

it was said in some forums that if we only connected the ac power, nvflash could be made to work. then some people posted that they found a switch in the tablet which cut supply to the battery and made the tablet work only on ac power. could these two be connected?

Just had a talk with sony live customer support. they dont know how to do it. but if anyone's interested, the number for the higher level technicians is 239-245-6476 (US only, thats why i can't find out)

What I mean is to use a powered charger eg from HTC or samsung and plug in to usb with it off and try to hold the vol - and tape the power button

Hmm... so when I hold down the Vol - button the screen blinks and then holds as if trying to access something but then it boots in to normal mode as if it couldn't access it, so maybe holding down combined with power/usb and maybe Condi's .bat file? I haven't tested it yet, but I will as soon as I get my computer up and running.
