I am on 44 with WW fingerprint. I only downloaded the FOTA, renamed it to the full image. Then used the default file manager to transfer it to the root directory of the phone. After reboot, system detected the update and from there it successfully updates to 64.
Note that I am not rooted. I unwittingly unrooted my phone when I went to change the fingerprint from CN to WW.
I wonder what's the extra use of the rooted version for you guys. Is it really necessary? I can't root my phone because that would mean unlocking again the bootloader which will practically erase everything.
I wished I flashed twrp for rog phone 2 when I changed from CN to WW. :/

Update: it erased my freaking FINGERPRINTS!!! HASSLE!
