just read the forum:

If you're having issues with "wait for device" or if RATC is looping, try this
Unplug your USB Cable
Go to Settings > Applications > Development
Uncheck USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable
Unplug your USB Cable
Check USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable

do this while the program is running and looping, and then worked for me

I can confirm this defo works. I shut the program down..restarted it...then followed the above proceedure.

for those having trouble.. when it says 'waiting for device' DO NOT remove usb cable but toggle debugger and mine rooted straight away

Eeeh, it's 1 am, I don't think my brother will be happy when I run into his room with "hey, can I borrow your laptop for a sec?",
Besides, he has the same laptop as I do + same OS etc. :X

Can it have anything to do with x64?

Phone updated to 2.1 even got it to root.. restored all my apps via Ti backup then by misake uninstalled HOME Launcher app Now helix launcher just force closes in a loop I cant do anything with the phone. I tried to access the file system using adb shell but it says acces denied... Can some one please please tell me how can i uninstall helix so that it stops the FC loop and install the HOME app again... I would really appreciate your help.. Thanks much in advance

Nice worked for me in one click. i haven't tried restarting my device though to check if root will still be there.

It finally worked, SOC got stuck at Waiting for device (even tho USB debug was on) and reticked the USB debug, and it got rooted So it's all to wait for waiting for device xD
