please sir i have a x2 with german firmware and i want to install french. i already downloaded R1BA023_Original_Cabs(ONLY FOR ORIGINAL X2!).rar and i thought that inside the folder i will get the cabs seperatly by language. but it is not so. which cabs do i need to select for french? in case i need to install all these cabs, in which stage of the process will i need to select my desire langauge? is there any linkto the complete tutorial of the process?thanks

TUTORIAL: DEBRANDING AND UPDATING YOUR XPERIA X2

1º Open SEUS, start a new update. EVEN IF IT SAYS YOU HAVE LATEST VERS, UPDATE IT ANYWAY.

2º ONCE IT REBOOTS, CALIBRATION SCREEN APPEARS. RIGHT AFTER CLICKING ON THE CROSSES, IT WILL APPEAR THE SONY ERICSSON LOGO, AND IT WILL START APPLYING THE CABS. PUSH THE RESET RIGHT after it starts applying (hidden behind the stilus, opening the battery cover).

3º After rebooting, the Sony Logo will appear again asking to retry. Press NO.

4º Now you will need a pack with all the cabs from the language firmware you want to change & update your X2. No matter if they are from the old firmware or the last one.The important part is they must come from the firmware with the language you want to turn your cellphone into. you can find how to extract said cabs here:

5º Once you have the cabs on your SD Card, you have to install them all, one by one. Once you are done, restart the cellphone.

6º Start SEUS again, run another update, force it if it says you have last version and you will get your X2 updated on your desired language.


now I want to know if it is because we dont know which files in the phone that SEUS checks before updating to a certain language that we need to install all cabs or SEUS checks all cabs before updating to a certain language?

After the end of processing you'll get:
* imgfs.bin (you can extract it using ImgFsToDump.exe and packagebuilder.exe)
* xip.bin
* msdos16bitfat.bin partitions (use DaemonTools/MagicISO etc to extract cabs from it)

how do you extract imgfs.bin and xip.bin, l have extracted only msdos16bitfat.bin and l can not extract cabs from it...? can any one explain step to step,we are not all pro cookers.

Use Ultraiso work 100x100.

kronos1, IMGFS can be extracted using ImgFsToDump.exe and packagebuilder.exe from any kitchen (ervius vk, for example).
drop imgfs.bin to imgfstodump.exe, you'll get "dump" folder after some time. then drop "dump" folder to packagebuilder.exe

Is it possible to get Russian ROMs (better MR1) somewhere or at least CABs from it? Need it to re-flash back to Russian FW and to experiment with getting Hardware keyboard working properly on English Firmware(currently I have problems with special button for RU/EN layout switching)

I can't upload all x2 roms because of different reasons, but here are all downloaded roms.

Just figured out yesterday the way to get CABs from currently installed firmware using TotalCommander.
Just enter in the adress bar:
\CUSTAPPS
and it will open the hidden partition, you'll be able to copy CABs to SD card.

Also found the way to re-flash back to my original Russian ROM without having Russian CABs. (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6512064&postcount=25 )

So I don't need Russian CABs anymore, but I need the Russian FW image to experiment with keyboard dlls. Or just instructions how to dump the image from currently installed ROM on device or convert from SEUS temporary downloaded files.

My problem is have not all programs and solutions for extract *.cab from *.sdr file.
Need me urgently czech localisation.cab but i can´t find to internet but i can´t extracting from *.sdr file GENERIC_CZ.
