Nothing Phone 1
Google Pixel 6a

Differences are big if you ask me . Turns out that the Magic 5 Pro its a overhyped product , camera wise . Just like the s23 Ultra .
Cant believe my eyes how bad the ultrawide lens its on the Honor
Honestly I haven't expected a wonder. The only interesting part is the fast shutter speed. That's something I miss on the vivo because the most pics of my kids are a bit blurred compared to the pixel 7 pro i had before. Even with the sport mode it's a lot behind pixel.

Used to work at a shop and use a phone for some minutes isn't significant. Buy them and use them as daily driver for some days or even better weeks.
yep that's when you notice the real difference between one OS that is stable like EMUI or one that every week again needs to reset some apps, has some bugs like Origin OS.. One where you can replace the launcher without any problem, one where it reminds you every few days about replacing the launcher or reminds you every few days to switch of development mode (Origin OS). One where the power saving mode does what it's supposed to - while the other power saving or dark mode or vibration mode ruins the notifications and other things. One with an AOD that works, one with an AOD that works only for a few select apps...
One that gets regular security updates vs one where you can be happy if they ever arrive...

There isn't even a competition on the OS side. It's Vivo and Xiaomi fighting for who can do it worse but Honor/Huawei is way ahead. As is Samsung, Nothing Phone, Google or even prison cage Apple.
Xiaomi and BBK try to take the worst aspects from apple and merge them it onto Android....
To sad LG doesn't exist anymore and Oneplus got destroyed by BBK...

I did my research before ordering my x90pp. And I couldn't be happier, all my apps work, including google pay and notifications and even my work outlook and teams for business which require some admin privileges on the phone. Glad I got this over the overpriced s23 ultra. Which in the end is worse than the x90pp in camera performance.

Vivo wipes the floor with the Honor 5.
No surprise. Big sensor and awesome lenses/processing. For photography, it's the one to beat. What a brilliant phone.
Turns out that the companies that invested most in marketing last years ( Honor and Samsung) dissapoint this year camera wise . The Honor more , the Samsung less . But still a disappointment .

Your shooting yourself in your foot. No other company lately shelled out as much on marketing as Vivo for the x series... The soccer world cup and a lot lot of other places were plastered with advertisment for Vivo x90....

Samsung and Honor spent peanuts in comparison... Or is this what you want to say?

Yes, the Vivo was advertised at the World Cup, but I have not seen it advertised anywhere in the UK. On the contrary, not a single day in my life passes at the moment without being exposed to the S23U on the internet, tv and even radio. Absolutely insane how much they are pushing the fake narrative that it's a revolution in mobile photography.

I dont know were you live . Every single day i get out for a walk i see Samsung everywhere . On street panels . When at home i see Samsung advertised on every single tv channel . I hear about Samsung on radio when in car . I live in a smaller European country . When i was living in UK it was everywhere aswell ,imagine the costs for all European coutries alone , not talking other continents. I never saw Vivo advertised in my country , extremely rare in other European countries i lived in .
World cup or not , i would bet one finger that Samsung and Honor spends incomparably more money than Vivo does to advertise their phones .

Tech websites mainly for Samsung what I've seen except on launch day. Those are relatively cheap. The world cup is the most expensive advertisment venue that exists (Superbowl is a single evening). I live in Taiwan over winter and vivo had much more adverts here vs s23U and that with the x90pro and x90 basically not sold anywhere and list price for x90 pro being more than s23plus which is ridiculous.

And during that time they even plastered tv stations for 3 weeks all while the device wasn't even available (only preorder in China)...

If vivo wouldn't belong to BBK I would have expected them to go bankrupt on that campaign seeing their market share which is mainly made up by budget phones in India and China..
And vivo basically only sells phones (their audio products are a thing of the past). Xiaomi or Samsung sell your full household (Xiaomi in China only) so them advertising one product will give a lot of cross sells to other products...

But back on topic:

The battery life is pretty bad. Kinda same drain as x90pp only that it has 10% better battery life due to 10% larger battery.
Why so far have all except Xiaomi 13 pro and S23u skipped out on fast connect 7800, and seemingly all but Samsung on x70. Has Qualcomm increased their prices so much? (I don't know what Motorola did. Their 8gen2 device has very little information outside China but it's very cheap so likely big compromises too).

Now I will take magic5pro to talk about the use experience. First of all, the charging speed is no different from that before, because my last mobile phone is meta40pro, which is very good for taking photos. However, after taking a photo in the disaster year, you can immediately enter the photo album to check it, and you will find the photo processing process. The capture function is very useful, and you can maliciously take many moments when you have no time to react; The signal is good, which is very good compared with the iPhone, but the personal feeling is still poor compared with the Huawei Meta40pro. It is very useful to control the display direction by staring at the screen and following the viewing angle rather than following the angle held. It is said that the function of watching and clicking will be updated in the future. The battery life is very good, and the use of high intensity video can reach 8 hours

Well I have 470mah per hour surfing on 4G with lots of data, 400mah if little data (room light, not outdoors).. 5-6% /hour on WiFi which is better than your quoted 350maH and actually quite a lot better than most review websites. That's 235-260maH. But it's standby without WiFi and especially power use if outdoors and far away from cities (but close enough to have 1-2 cells) that drains this phone like no tomorrow. Though luckily standby did improve a bit on latest update too. Down to 0.8% per hour from 1.5% that it was on release and 1% the last month (that is really deep sleep, not average screen off).

And yeah about 1GB of 4G data equals 1% battery (with good reception, if outdoors with bad reception this can go up to 5% and thats really crazy, meaning google photos backup or similar will drain this phone if I don't switch off auto backup while being outdoors). I said already I consume 300-400GB mobile data a month so to me this really matters. My old p30pro was much better, as are phones that actually have the new Qualcomm x70 modem.
In Italy we usually say that a man is making too much "mental masturbation" when all he does is create problems in his own head. What's the problem with battery?
From what I see the Vivo X90 Pro Plus has a very good battery that lasts me more than 24 hours without problems despite using it a lot. Need more autonomy? Maybe you should take 2 phones or a power bank with you. :D Even with S23 Ultra do you think the battery life is double? it will last at most 1 hour more with screen on and I'm not even sure about this thing.

You must convince youselves that the perfect phone doesn't exist. I'm sure you won't be 100% happy also with S23U and Honor Magic 5 Pro.

Looks like the much much better X90 Pro+ on first look.

Software Policy that promises 3 major android upgrades, 5 years of security updates vs nothing on Vivo (likely 1-2 major upgrades only). Caveat on MWC it was spotted with Android 12 out of the box - but the China OS version seems to be on Android 13. Very unlikely it will launch with Android 12.
Software stability/notificatins: Yeah Huawei/Honor isn't top but way better than Vivo.
Google: fully inbuilt on European model - no China OS spyware
Sensor: Yes it's only 1/1.12" but it has F1.6 vs F1.8 so the natural bokeh will be pretty identical. Amount of light per pixel even slightly better
Ultrawicde: a bit higher quality sensor,
    Selfie sensor: much better.
Zoom: Identical but faster lens - so in theory also slightly better. F3.0 vs F3.5
Camera software: well Huawei has always been top...
Battery: 5100maH (Global version only, Chinese gets 5450) vs 4700 on X90..

    Bluetooth: X90 Pro+ has 5.3 s 5.2 only on Huawei.
Wifi: some special Wifi 6 promised - but both miss Wifi 6e and Wifi 7 as it looks now
esim: Magic 5 Pro should come with e-sim and dual sim for Europe.

Price: 1200€ including VAT and warranty in Europa - price is for Germany.... (that's basically identical to China plus VAT)
Price in China: The 90 Pro+ has today dropped today with vouchers to 4500RMB on JD (quite a drop from once 6999RMB even tough it was available at 6000 right from the start - Magic 5 Pro starts at 7473RMB - don't know about discounts... Clearly in China the X90Pro+ is a bargain vs the Magic 5 Pro in price right now. S23 Ultra goes for around 78000 RMB in China for the 512GB version.

Biggest default for Magic 5 Pro: concering camera: no variable aperture! This will hurt exactly the same as on X90 Pro+. Likely Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have the better main camera due to variable aperture on the IMX 989.
Magic 5 Pro likely has small Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor only (however their face unlock should be safer - unlike Vivo that opens with a picture...)
Hello , my lovely friend . Can i ask you again why you bought such a bad phone like the X90 pro plus ? what are you trying to prove here? I know i risk getting blocked soon because of you . What about the bad software of the Vivo?
I used both Xiaomi and Vivo . No competition for my taste , i prefer Vivo's OS way better .

The sad thing is that he bought it thinking it was a battery phone but he is also complaing about photo quality even if in many comparison Vivo is better than S23U.
He is complaining about battery , camera , design , modem , google services ( everybody knows the problems with chinese phones) . How is that possible ? How is that even being tolerated every single day its beyond my power of understanding . I get it peoples got opinions , i like criticism as long as its constructive and realistic . But he is literally aberrating . Im ready to be banned right now . Banned for speaking in the name of 99% of this forum .
