[XAP] Search Key Settings (search key remapper)

Hi,

For those who want to remap the search key, install this xap from Ultrashot.
There are some xaps for that but they don't work with some ROMs.
This one will work on Ansars roms.

It's installed on settings page (a new link is added on settings page)

Requirements :
- Full unlocked ROM.

Features (choices) :
- No action
- Default action
- Bing
- Search
- Any app installed on device

How to uninstall it

If you want to uninstall this app (and remove it from your settings page) :

You can use XAPDeployX that can be found here :

You have to check "force uninstall if application is already installed" and to select the XAP file you've installed (and want to uninstall).

Exists simpler method - you can uninstall any app (nevermind from app list or settings) by Program manager without PC. (With this program you can do many more eg. save installed app in xap form.)

hi there,

is this the latest version?
sadly, it's not working for me...

i'm running fully unlocked rom, and the xap is set as "trusted" in root manager, so it should be fine...
I can run the xap and make the changes (marking another program) but it's not working...
when i press the search button, it does not open my selected program, it does still open "search"...

can u help me?

Edit: I think this is an Wp7.8 issue, because in RainbowMod 2.0.1 it is working fine, which is not the latest wp7.8 release.
Now i cooked a rom for myself, just the stock rom with ultrashots unlock package and xapdeployer installed.
Then i downloaded the file in the first post on my phone, installed it with xapDeployer and it is not working...

the app works great. but i'd like to have the search tile pined on the start screen. is it possible? to get t the search i have to go to the "quick launch" app and then search, but i'm on htc mozart with a single core cpu and it takes a lot of time to open it. i tried the Google search alternative but it doesn't have the search by image, like qr codes and that stuff.

do you have any idea how i can pin the bing search to the start screen? thanks

it seems that it crashes at start but retries automatically and starts from the second try. it happens every time. but it's better than nothing

sorry for digging up but can you give me the registry keys that you modified or the way you did to remap the search key? i want to change it on my full root access Lumia 8.1
