So I've got xbmc all up and running, torrents, hulu, and all.

My only question is, is there a working Netflix plugin? (I do have a Netflix account)

much to the dismay of the xbmc/htpc fans, no*. netflix has that **** locked down tighter than a gnats arse. they don't release their api to the public, and anytime anyone has it figured out, they plug it up. on the reasoning of "drm", of course.
on a phone, no real big deal, you just close xbmc, open netflix. whatever. but for people (like myself) who are htpc hobbyists, and have a dedicated pc that IS their TV interface, thats a damn pain. shut down the whole interface, losing the "seamless" facade of the 10 ft interface, just to open a browser and get to netflix. bah. seeing the windows desktop on my tv really kills the magic. (so I just switch over to my ps3, load it there)

*so, in truth, there IS a plugin for netflix. but what it does is.... you guessed it, opens a browser window to load netflix. have not tried it for my phone. on an htpc it blows. looks crappy, and breaks several of the remote functions.

Isnt netflix a subscription only service or is there free content too? Either way they have an android app which will probably work better than playing them through a browser.

Just a note here folks, just because xbmc has an add-on for a particular service or content host, does not imply free access to that content.
Most plug-ins are not approved by said content providers. Anything that would require a web-based login likely requires that same login to work on xbmc. Like my NHL Center Ice subscription as an example. Works fairly the same as the ps3 add-on for this content, with the added "feature" of no location awareness (ip checking), so I can view games in blackout for my area. (Go Flyers!) As you can imagine, NBC would not approve of this.
That being said, there are addon repositories that are off the xbmc projects radar that have... features similar... that might be construed as "warez", and so not suitable for discussion on these boards, dig?

(sorry man if that came of sounding like an accusation. Lol, it's a sensitive subject, we get people all over the xbmc boards asking questions like "how du I getz free (insert paid content here)?!1!" and you sir are an upstanding community member with integrity, and I know this. ?)

Yup thank you the Netflix situation is as I thought..

I wasn't trying to grab paid content for free, I was just hoping for a nice integrated all in one solution.

Though I agree things like a black out are completely ridiculous. I pay for that sports channel to show sports.
I should be able to watch anything that channel is airing.

Thanks for the replies.
