Maybe these apps are not adapted with form factor… I left all in auto mode personally…
Then in major app, we have a black band on top ? It's this ?
I don't think so bro. Android apps are built to be responsive with different aspect ratio since Android phones come with various types of screen. The stretching over front camera hole option on other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi work just fine. Vivo otherwise gave me a really hard time recently.
The same problem happens on other Vivo phones with Origin OS, people just don't pay attention to it since we rarely use normal phones in landscape mode. It's a different story with X fold when it comes with a 5:4 large screen and we use it in landscape a lot. The white letterbox is really pain to the eyes.
Have anyone rooted the phone and tried notch killer module?

Can someone on ATT comment on cell signal reliability and APN setting steps to make the phone work ? I am able to get reliable 4G data however when making calls as soon as I dial the call ends… I guess the response is ATT is no go ? I would hate to return the phone. Do the T-Mobile folk have reliable service ?
You CANNOT make the phone work on AT&T, period. Either ditch the phone, or change carrier (that's what I did) - those are your only options. Before switching to T-Mobile, I was having the exact same issues you have, and I worked with AT&T's advanced technical support supervisor, who was speaking directly to their network engineers about this issue.

Without going into lengthy details - AT&T network is currently incompatible with this device. They have 2 options: they can either set your device as 'PDA' in their network and provision it as such, and then data works fine, but no phone calls. Or they can set it as Next Gen 4G/5G device, which has to use "nextgenphone" APN, but unfortunately their network is configured in such a way that when they set your device as a Next Gen phone - it has to recognize the phone model or their reps have to be able to manually set it by selecting from pre-defined list of manufacturers and devices, in order to provision 4G/5G data on the device . Currently, AT&T network is not able to recognize this device, and they are unable to set the device make and model manually, because the entire 'Vivo" brand is not on their manufacturers list. You can confirm this by logging into your AT&T account and trying to change your device in the account settings online. RIght now it will show as either Unknown Device, or wrong model from different brand. If you try to change the device - AT&T site will bring up a list of manufacturers to select from, and Vivo will not be on that list.

Really nice feedback. More precise than basic data.

I've been following the Vivo X fold news for a while now, and I found someone on Twitter has already installed Magisk on it. I'm not sure if it is working though.
That is awesome! Any idea if that could potentially fix the notification issues? (I rarely get third party app notifications on time). Also, not having third party app notifications show up on the AOD is close to a deal breaker for me. One last issue I have is the screen brightness, barely legible in direct sunlight (my Fold 3 is much, much brighter).

Other than these issues, I love everything about this phone. The larger outer display is the best! Unfortunately, without fixes for the notification issues, I'll likely be selling mine :(

I ask Tutorial if it's available.... Magisk is the FUTURE...
Apparently, he/she has a website from his/her Twitter handle (https://androplus.org/), but nothing about the X fold on it. he/she is probably still testing. I wouldn't jump in it is still too early to unlock the bootloader.

Edit: forgot to mention that someone already asked for the method to root. it seems unstable and could boot loop:

I've heard some people were able to fix the notification problem! I still do not own the phone but, I had a Xiaomi with the same issue. I just pinned (locked) the app in the app switcher and all was fine and dandy.

Battery optimization, locked, special and unique authorizations… don't fix definitely notifications issue... you have issue and sometimes don't...
Somewhere in ROM from Vivo, they extra kill and delay notif... i have another VIvo after 3 years of update, still issue...

I got my answer, AndroPlus make the job :

Hi, the guide is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/vivo-x70-pro-bootloader-unlock-how-to-guide.4444989/… The guide says you have to run "fastboot flash vendor vendor.img" but actually anything is ok. The key point is, the signature check for unlocking is skipped until the fastboot command is executed and fails, so you can use random movie files like this instead of vendor.img: fastboot boot movie.mp4 After that you can use DSU Loader to extract boot img from root adb shell, but if your firmware is "PD2178_A_12.0.14.5.W10", you can use my dump: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iSmgGynhIeh7zUQaoF9KZ5o2DvohCHDp?usp=sharing

If a enthusiast is ready to try... Need to be experienced and have correct driver on desktop.
And to have a DUMP !!!

I wouldn't try with that boot.img it is best to either pull or your own or pull from the firmware.

I attempted this and it led to a bootloop. I was however able to get back in my device with a full firmware download from recovery but i couldn't capture the traffic to get a link directly from vivo servers.

We technically need the boot.img from vivo and vendor.img from their firmware which can be used for (in theory) all devices for the x fold. That said does anyone know any sites that have uploaded the vivo x fold firmware as it is not posted on vivo support

Finally successfully root my X Fold.
System Version is 15.7, here's my original boot.img without patch, hope this is useful to you guys.

And this is the 15.7 OTA package link which I intercept by wireshark.

And is there anyone know how to connect Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 to Vivo X fold?
Tried for a few hours, but didn't get any solution.

Hey guys, two days ago I got my X fold delivered. Big thanks to Wonda Mobile for a 3 days delivery from Asia to UK!
Interestingly enough I am getting notifications on I think everything with dark mode enabled! Have not deleted any of Vivo's apps and I have not disabled anything. The only place I don't see notifications, other than calls and smses is the always on display.
I'm in London on Smarty (runs on the 3UK network) and have 5G everywhere I had it with my S21 Ultra (it is even better I think) getting more than 700mbs
I have checked and all UK operators are running their 5G networs on bands supportd by the phone.
The only major problem I have is the connection to my Tickwatch 3 pro ultra gps. The Wear OS app (from play store) will connect to the watch but not go through the setup proces after selecting my google account. Just spins and nothing... Tried with the Chinese Ware OS app but during setup it tells me that for decices otside of China I should use the one from the play store. Any help on this would be helpful.
Regarding notifications I just went and enabled everything in app info notifications and permissions sections for the apps I need and also in the single permissions section.
Ask me for specific things and I might be able to test them for you guys.

Folks, any solution to enable google location history without rooting? I saw a post here, about using a magisk module. But magisk requires root.

    Thanks all

Is there a way to force apps to work in split screen? On fold 3 is an option in labs which activates this.

I know there is an option in developer mode but it seems not working.

    Any other ideas?
