I don't think so bro. Android apps are built to be responsive with different aspect ratio since Android phones come with various types of screen. The stretching over front camera hole option on other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi work just fine. Vivo otherwise gave me a really hard time recently.Maybe these apps are not adapted with form factor… I left all in auto mode personally…
Then in major app, we have a black band on top ? It's this ?
You CANNOT make the phone work on AT&T, period. Either ditch the phone, or change carrier (that's what I did) - those are your only options. Before switching to T-Mobile, I was having the exact same issues you have, and I worked with AT&T's advanced technical support supervisor, who was speaking directly to their network engineers about this issue. Can someone on ATT comment on cell signal reliability and APN setting steps to make the phone work ? I am able to get reliable 4G data however when making calls as soon as I dial the call ends… I guess the response is ATT is no go ? I would hate to return the phone. Do the T-Mobile folk have reliable service ?
Youtube Vanced is stopped... And it seems Google (Youtube) Update some core package, and YV die...Hi, is anyone managed to make Youtube Vanced work on the Xfold? I've installed everything, Vanced Music is working fine, But Youtube Vanced is Crashing upon opening.
I can see it in the Task list, but can't open it0 Any advice welcome.
Really nice feedback. More precise than basic data.[...} Currently, AT&T network is not able to recognize this device, and they are unable to set the device make and model manually, because the entire 'Vivo" brand is not on their manufacturers list. You can confirm this by logging into your AT&T account and trying to change your device in the account settings online. RIght now it will show as either Unknown Device, or wrong model from different brand. If you try to change the device - AT&T site will bring up a list of manufacturers to select from, and Vivo will not be on that list.
Thx i inderstand much better...I don't think so bro. Android apps are built to be responsive with different aspect ratio since Android phones come with various types of screen. The same problem happens on other Vivo phones with Origin OS, people just don't pay attention to it since we rarely use normal phones in landscape mode. It's a different story with X fold when it comes with a 5:4 large screen and we use it in landscape a lot. The white letterbox is really pain to the eyes.
Have anyone rooted the phone and tried notch killer module?
That is awesome! Any idea if that could potentially fix the notification issues? (I rarely get third party app notifications on time). Also, not having third party app notifications show up on the AOD is close to a deal breaker for me. One last issue I have is the screen brightness, barely legible in direct sunlight (my Fold 3 is much, much brighter).I've been following the Vivo X fold news for a while now, and I found someone on Twitter has already installed Magisk on it. I'm not sure if it is working though.
Apparently, he/she has a website from his/her Twitter handle (https://androplus.org/), but nothing about the X fold on it. he/she is probably still testing. I wouldn't jump in it is still too early to unlock the bootloader.
I've heard some people were able to fix the notification problem! I still do not own the phone but, I had a Xiaomi with the same issue. I just pinned (locked) the app in the app switcher and all was fine and dandy. That is awesome! Any idea if that could potentially fix the notification issues? Other than these issues, I love everything about this phone. The larger outer display is the best! Unfortunately, without fixes for the notification issues, I'll likely be selling mine![]()
Battery optimization, locked, special and unique authorizations… don't fix definitely notifications issue... you have issue and sometimes don't...I've heard some people were able to fix the notification problem! I contact them in DM directly.Apparently, he/she has a website from his/her Twitter handle (https://androplus.org/), but nothing about the X fold on it. he/she is probably still testing. I wouldn't jump in it is still too early to unlock the bootloader.
Edit: forgot to mention that someone already asked for the method to root. it seems unstable and could boot loop:
Hi, the guide is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/vivo-x70-pro-bootloader-unlock-how-to-guide.4444989/… The guide says you have to run "fastboot flash vendor vendor.img" but actually anything is ok. The key point is, the signature check for unlocking is skipped until the fastboot command is executed and fails, so you can use random movie files like this instead of vendor.img: fastboot boot movie.mp4 After that you can use DSU Loader to extract boot img from root adb shell, but if your firmware is "PD2178_A_12.0.14.5.W10", you can use my dump: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iSmgGynhIeh7zUQaoF9KZ5o2DvohCHDp?usp=sharing
my friend, there are still some available packages here and there, and I've installed it on all my devices and worked like a charm. only issue is fold X so far.Youtube Vanced is stopped... And it seems Google (Youtube) Update some core package, and YV die...
sorry guys, but what will be magisk benefits? I'm a bit ignorant on this topic..I got my answer, AndroPlus make the job :
If a enthusiast is ready to try... Need to be experienced and have correct driver on desktop.
And to have a DUMP !!!
just uninstall com.vivo.sps com.vivo.abenotifications issue... you have issue and sometimes don't...
Somewhere in ROM from Vivo, they extra kill and delay notif... i have another VIvo after 3 years of update, still issue...
I wouldn't try with that boot.img it is best to either pull or your own or pull from the firmware.I got my answer, AndroPlus make the job :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\vivo>adb shellgive me full list
adb shell pm list packages -a
(I'm not owner of x fold, but can take a look in problem with notifications)
