New update for UK (XEU code) is released,

XEU: I9000XXJVO/I9000OXAJVO/I9000XXJVO/I9000XXJVO

Build date: 2011 05 04

to download use CheckFusDownloader (search for it on xda developers forum), remember to put FusCipherUtil.dll (from KIES directory) in the same dir where you got CheckFusDownloader to decrypt the firmware!

CheckFusDownloader_v0.5.exe -dl I9000XXJPY/I9000OXAJPY/I9000XXJPY/I9000XXJPY XEU

The build date is the same as JVH. I wonder if that means there aren't any changes with the official XEE and NEE updates.

I'm having trouble upgrading via Kies. When it gets to downloading upgrade files the connection is lost, almost immediately restored and then I'm back at the "do you want to upgrade?" prompt. Could it be because mine is rooted?

Hi all, im currently on 2.2 from o2, I know it will be ages until o2 release it for us so can anyone tell me if spoofing kies will work and if so what code would I need to use, or maybe there is another way to get kies to upgrade me?
If you're going to depart from o2 supplied f/w you might as well flash via Odin.

However I've just spoofed kies using Spooffw app and upgraded to JVO...very straight forward,

    in spooffw:
    1. pull up the menu and update the presets
    2. you HAVE to backup current settings before you can proceed
    3. clear product code field and choose Europe (not 2.1) preset - it should enter I9000XXJPO
    4. click "ok"
    5. reboot
    6. after reboot re-enter spooffw
    7. choose presets for phone and CSC fields as in 3. above - it will enter I9000XXJPP and I9000XAJPO respectively.
    8. click "ok",
    9. close spooffw
    10. connect phone to pc via USB in kies mode...you should be offered upgrade to JVO....job done

    With kies or Odin??

    Impressions??

    Thanks

Using ODIN, firmware downloaded directly from Samsung servers (see post)
It contains PDA, Modem, CSC and bootloaders on a single TAR file so it will wipe all data. That's what I wanted anyway, so it's OK for me.

It's just JVH with another CSC and Swype. CSC are CPW, DBT, KOR, XEO, XEU, Swype has Spanish language, and "Info diaria" is back. So it's an interesting ROM for someone in Spain.

The official Gingerbread for Spain will be this one with another CSC, so it loads the APN names automatically, but you can just create the APN yourself in this one.

Daran, I'd just do a factory reset and install the stock jvo firmware with odin.

Use battery calibration app and you should get a full day. I'm getting about 24hrs on a good day and about 14hrs on a heavy use day with an hour of wifi surfing.

The biggest drain is using data over 3g so try diaabling that and using wifi only to see how you go.
