Anyway to do this compatible with the lastest apps (xfinity tv go and xfinity tv)? Also anyway to find a directv.apk working in the same manner?
How did you log in?I sideloaded the latest version of the Xfinity TV app version 3.1.0.014
The app does not support proper navigation with android tv remote as it is intended to be used on a touch interface.
You can however connect a mouse via USB OTG and use the app. I have watched around an hour of TV on the app and did not have any major issues.
It is a little buggy at times exiting and re-entering the app and I have had a force close but it is usable.
Once they update for Android TV support I will be very happy. (I am hoping they update for Android TV support. I haven't found any information to say they are for sure.)
did you use a mouse and keyboard? I have both NP and ShieldTV but I am more interested in getting this working on Shield now since the TV go app as been phased out. We really need to find a working solution to the Xfinity TV app for both devices. How did you log in?
I sideloaded the new TV app, but it FC, so either it is structured for Nougat, or more likely, IMO, no support for x86.did you use a mouse and keyboard? Nvidia ShieldTV is a Tegra X1 processor so its Arm but it still FC on mine too.I sideloaded the new TV app, but it FC, so either it is structured for Nougat, or more likely, IMO, no support for x86.
They could eliminate most android-based TV devices with one fell swoop.
The customer diagnostics page showed the rom/device name that authenticated, so I wouldn't be surprised if the NP was high on their targer list.
Is the Shield an Arm or x64 device?
also I just realize I have the Nexus 9 tablet that has a Tegra K1 processor in it and the Xfinity TV app works great on it. I am hoping its just repackaging the APK with the "allow androidTV" switch or something. Oh and I also have a freescale solidrun android device with tablet android on it, and the TV app will run but not play anything saying there is no security for the device that it is meant only for mobile devices.Nvidia ShieldTV is a Tegra X1 processor so its Arm but it still FC on mine too.
Is that the newer 3.9.xx version?using original LolliRock lollipop from zulu on player and xfinity tv app runs fine
