The box is called a Zidoo 9xs, it’s running android 6. It’s a bit of an oddball because it also has an HDMI input.

I’m using a Zidoo 9xs, running android 6. It’s a bit of an oddball because it has an HDMI input as well.
That might be the issue since it's such an odd box running a really old version of Android. The box is called a Zidoo 9xs, it’s running android 6. It’s a bit of an oddball because it also has an HDMI input.
Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. I’m still grateful for this thread. The limited functionality that I get is much better than zero functionality. Is there anything that you would recommend that I try just for the heck of it?That might be the issue since it's such an odd box running a really old version of Android.
Fair enough. Thanks again!@jimihendrix2000 Your best and cheapest bet is probably to pick up one of those Onn Android boxes from Wal-Mart. They are usually $15-$20 and are heck of a deal.
Not sure if you tried it....but navigating and selecting channel after things load up might help....my 1st android tv experience was with a old MiBox....and it would crash often .....slowing down navigation through the app seemed to help.....i eventually moved on to the shield tv pro.
I will test on my Shield TV and let you know.Hey there, so it seems like i have successfully modded the version you posted. It's working on my end...can anyone else give it a test.
Sadly It will not install.Hey there, so it seems like i have successfully modded the version you posted. It's working on my end...can anyone else give it a test.
Did you uninstall the old version (as well as the icon addon)?
No I just made sure the current version was not running.
Weird...I've always had too...(main reason i didn't always install the updates, due to having to sign back in again....kinda a pain, have to whip out my mouse.....whole process takes maybe 2 min....but i hate it lol!)No I just made sure the current version was not running.
I never have needed to completely uninstall the older version and icon addon in order to install the newer one.
Good NewsI used ApkTool M on my note 10+
I decompiled the apk and did the switch from 0x1 to 0x0 at line 138 (after many other attempts and reverting those non-working changes and testing till it worked)
And recompiled the "project" using the aapt2 option.
Btw I'm basically clueless at this....I've done such mods in the past from guides...never tried blind to this extent
Thank you for confirming it !!Good News
I uninstalled the old app and also icon like you said to do and I was able to install your modded one just fine.
Seems to be working good so far.
Big Thanks
So you did a fantastic jobThank you for confirming it !!
Glad to add to the thread, this thread and the dev thread with the user getting root for the shield with Ui Upscaling are my favorites....the user knowledge sharing takes me back to the better days of xda

Phone up Rogers and complain. Tell them that Bell supports the chromecast dongle and they should. If they do not, then say you are leaving them and going to Bell.I'm in the same boat where I want to run the Ignite TV app on my Google TV with chromecast dongle so I don't have to pay for another box in our bedroom TV but all of the above versions don't work. Rogers or ROBBERS are such scam artists it isn't funny. Bell provides an app and the Ignite service is licensed from Comcast Xfinity and they provide an app. So ridicules!
Please Post this version. I along with many others would like it. Thanks.

This APK works well on a Beelink GT1 Ultimate which uses the Amlogic S912 SoC. Can you also remove the HDMI checks from the Shaw FreeRange TV app?

This app looks almost identical to the Xfinity Stream TV app but it provides Canadian channels instead of American ones.
