Xiaomi Mi-2 Beijing

Hi guys.
I've been reading about MI-2 for a long time now since they are unavailable to buy outside China, never gave it much thought. As it turns out, my father is going there in a few weeks and will be staying there for 2 weeks. He is going to Beijing. I live in Austria and as I understood, phone should work normally?
So does anybody have any info on where he can buy it? Will he be able to buy it in a store?
Any info would be gladly appreciated

i had a converstaion with XIAOMI facebook page, i was advised the only place that sells it would be Xiaomi.com

all other website claiming to xiaomi stuff are 95% fake.
