Recenllty bought a Xiaomi tv 4s, I did run the channel search the first channel is “800” and I cant change the number channel.
I saw few post here and there around internet with same problem, but no solution was provided how to deal with it

Hey guys, I just got a Mi Tv 4s L55M5-5ASP from my buddy and apparently the audio is not working for the TV, not even when i plug in external speakers or connecting it to a bluetooth speaker. It will just simply output weird impulses of cracking noise. So I cannot get sound with the smart TV interface at all, e.g with youtube or netflix. However, the only situation it works flawlessly is when i connect a HDMI cable to my laptop and from my laptop, i use either the laptop's dedicated speaker or external speakers, then the output audio works. Any audio that plugs into the TV directly is not working, even for its own dedicated speaker. I tried to tinker with the settings and have no success with it. I hope someone here can shed some light in my situation as the TV is working just fine, just the audio is a big let down for now and it is not working as a "smart tv" at the moment. Thanks

Hi czerwus,
I have installed MiTVUpgrade_6886plus.bin on a 55" MiTV-MSSP3 without any issues. I've had PI.4663 prior to installing.
Among other small fixes It fixed the most annoying "automatic image smoothing activation" whenever any HDR content was played. Also it won't exit prime video app anymore whenever you exit settings.

Yes, same problem with me. Not all updates are good. TV has become dumb with low memory. I cannot even stream a 4gb movie with free movies apps. I want to downgrade.

It says 4 GB is full out of 4.4 GB. How should I free up space. I tried factory reset and TV manager to clean temp files. No success. Refer the attached video.

Honestly I do have 43 inch 4A model. But the only concern here is do we need custom rom for this TV? I mean we already have one of the best stock firmware. Also, there is a way to sideload app from usb and once you install aptoide store then you can directly download apps from it. I have good amount of apps installed for me but few of them need mouse like Netflix and Amazon prime. Some of them need google play services so they do get installed but when you try go ahead they ask for play services. Also, regarding the UART port, opening the back panel will surely void the warranty, are people willing to go ahead with that?
I'm fond of mods and custom roms but here it is bit complicated as a TV is not a personal device which is used by only one person like a smartphone. I heard we will get the oreo update soon does any1 knows when it's scheduled?

You are correct. Do we really need custom rom? My answer is 'No'. Some devices like Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is better with Stock Rom as all the custom roms have some or the other bugs which are affecting some important functionality in the phone. For the Mi4a pro TV, I want to degrade its OS because with the latest OS, there is very less space and I cannot stream online movie via popcorn time if its size is above 900MB. So I think we need some option to expand its internal memory or downgrade the firmware. But I dont know how to do that.

Dear Friend,
I'm not concerned about custom ROMS here. But I want to enhance possible supported features in product not given by Mi.
I have Mitv 4a, and it doesn't support bluetooth speaker, while there is bluetooth in hardware. So by rooting and patching some firmware to make it working is my concern.

Another thing is, As phoneix rom and older Remix os were having support to replicate touch with Keyboard and mouse. If one can mimic that feature in patch ui firmaware than our MiTV will be more amazing:fingers-crossed:
I used to do same with Octopus app but its annoying for many apps.

Most important feature for me is supporting external sd card as internal storage. Which would not be possible without rooting MiTV.

What do you and others say about these?

I can confirm that I can connect any bluetooth speaker / headset on my MiTv 4a Pro. I also connected my F&D 5.1 f3000f speaker system (this 5.1 speaker system does not have built in Bluetooth however has an pendrive / USB slot in which I put Bluetooth Dongle) and enjoy the audio.

Yes I wish if there was an option to free up the memory or shift the internal memory to external drive.

Yes there are additional settings (Shutdown, Screen off, Restart) I have tried shutdown a few weeks ago but the screen would still glow and for some reason it would turn itself on at 5 in the morning (tried twice) (Not so nice when you are sleeping )

So this isn't a solution unfortunately

Hello guys. I have been reading this forum as i plan u buy 43inch 4s model in near future. Finding a proper review for this tv is very hard @internet. So could u guys give an idea about the picture quality , input lag while using as a monitor @4k60hz? I dont need that much software support like mirroring or netflix or amazon that much.
And how does it stand up against other entry level 4k tvs like RU7100 or x7000f ? I am mostly concerned about picture quality and durability.

I can confirm that my Mi4a pro TV 32 inches and it is the best. 4th year is ending now without a single repair or any issue. I had Samsung TV which was 3 times more costly with half of the features and a dim display. Mi / Xiaomi is the best as it provides better quality with lots of features in less price.
