I have the same problem.

I have read on the magisk website that you must install the disable force encryption zip file and then flash the magisk. Is this true? To do so I have read that you have to put the twrp in "system read only" to not allow system modifications....Is this also true? Is there anyone who knows which is the correct procedure?

Magisk's page says this:

Steps To Root Xiaomi POCO F1 Using Magisk

1. The very firstly boot your Xiaomi Pocophone into TWRP Recovery Mode.
2. On the TWRP home screen, tap on the ‘Keep Read Only’ button to not allow system modifications.
3. Now, go to ‘Install‘ and browse the ‘Disable-Force-Encryption-Treble.zip‘ file.
4. Once selected, swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm flash’ button.
5. Now, reboot the TWRP Recovery.
6. Then go-too Wipe > Format Data and type ‘YES’ in the required field to confirm the action.
7. Go back to the TWRP homes screen and once again navigate to the ‘Install’ tab.
8. Now, browse and select the Magisk .Zp file.
9. Finally, swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm flash’ button to root poco f1 using magisk.
Done. Just wait until the process finishes.

Thanks a lot

Try my solution.
I didn't need any of that.

Let me know if it worked for you too.

what did you do exactly? I am facing same problem...

1. Did you enable "keep system read only"? or just swipe the bottom slider to continue?
2. Did you just flash the "Disable Force Encryption" or did you also install magisk? And if you have install magisk, which version?
3. Did you wipe, format data after flashing disbale force encryption?

thanks!

1. Yes.. and no swipe. These options were only available the first time I booted recovery which didn't stick, I subsequently tried to flash it many (many) times but never got that screen again

2. Flashed recovery (again), booted same, flashed DFE - nothing else

3. No

Best of luck..

I followed strictly the magisk.me method and everything went correctly till I reboot to system...then i see the screen booting but then the phone switchs off. its like there is no rom inside. I can access to fastboot and twrp......so i am going to try to wipe system and install again the rom. this will fix the problem? any ideas? hope i dont have a bricked phone.

Yes l, i tried it... System/system..
for example the bootanimation.zip
/system/system/media/theme/cust_config/global/
i also applied the correct permissions.
But it doesn't work.
I had no issues in pie..
You have to flash a custom kernel. It worked for me, I was able to change my bootanimation. I used Optimus Drunk Kernel.

Please.. Need help. My Poco is losing internet data connection randomly for few seconds. It is becoming incredibly annoying especially while playing online games.
I'm on MIUI 11.0.4 Android 10 EU, rooted with magisk DFE 20.3, and official TWRP recovery.
I've attached a logcat which I believe to have caught this strange "bug".
<Desperate> Need assistance.
Look from the bottom of the log file.

I am confused as well. Well, I guess this thread is getting out of control topic.
This is the thread called
Xiaomi Poco F1 [Firmware 11.0.5.0 |9.7.11 ,Unlock Bootloader,TWRP Recovery and Root]
but the last pages treat the 11.0.4Q Version. So it might be time to open up a new thread for people who start from scratch with 11.0.4Q.

Now, to solve your problem: If you are trying to follow the guide from 1st post, I would personally recommend a downgrade to the version 11.0.5P. This page should help:
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/beryllium/

If you find any TWRP suitable for 11.0.4Q, please keep us informed, or better: open up a new thread for that firmware/TWRP-combo :)

Guys, need help and info.
I bought a POCO F1, upgrade was available, so upgraded (OTA) to 11.0.4.0 Stable which was android 10.
Phone was overheating, so exchanged under replacement policy.
New phone came today, OTA update was available, Version is 11.0.5.0 Stable , this is android pie.
Can anyone help me understand what exactly happened?
Was Android 10 rolled back?

Also, when I tried to unlock thru the MI Unlock site,it says "Sorry, couldn't unlock more devices by this account this month. Any TIPS to unlock?

Thanks in advance.

OrangeFox works great with 11.0.4.0 Q

No touch issues whatsoever.

I had A LOT of issues with TWRP using Pie and EVEN MORE using Q.

Now, I am yet to have a single issue with OrangeFox.

Give it a go, you won't be sorry.

So sad that we've come to a point where people ask for advice and help but never take the time to say thank you or even give some feedback.

Really sad.

That's why these threads are slowly dying.

People who spent endless hours looking for a way to fix certain issues don't feel like helping anymore because of a somewhat ungrateful society.

Oh well.

Best of all to everyone.
