there is officeial repo for android-Oreo on github. Can I directly use that source to build Oreo kernel? how to build full rom for 4a?

The Redmi 4a is an entry-level device from Xiaomi (which was released along the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime), which looks like to be an absolute steal for the money. Couldn't find much about it here on XDA, so decided it was time for a general thread until it gets it's own section on XDA.

It is clear that we need a better, more reliable phone complete with high performing capabilities. For that, we need the kernel source! It allows us to build better performing phones! We've done this for years and we still have years to come. This is Android and this is XDA's tradition. Evolution is the way to the bright future. So Xiaomi, let our Redmi 4A evolve.

Well, I'm thinking about Xiaomi for better performing hardwares but thinking about Huawei for better photography. And btw, go find out yourself because there's pros and contras in these two device.3hey, anyway, we finally have a source! , though it'll be under the codename riva instead of rolex

It's easyThanks for your recommendation. I tried search from xiaomi.eu, TWRP downloaded but can't find the ROM link.
Instead changing ROM, I tried download the latest Apk (V0.55.0), it work with the Official Global ROM I install, only things that Google Play still shown device not support. <guess Niantic hasn't updated their list of supported devices, I just comment via playstore, see whats going next> Thanks!:good:

and Download TWRP. Follow instructions. The Redmi 4A Codename is Rolex, see last but one line. So you have to download the HM4A version from
