Question Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, charger ln8000 and custom ROMs

I use Xiaomi sweet since mid-2022. I never used MIUI. Unlocked the bootloader, flashed vanilla ArrowOS 12L and rooted the whole thing. All worked flawlessly.

A few days ago I ordered a second device. Then learned about the touchscreen not working on some devices (TWRP and custom ROMs).

Researched and found this thread about the Xiaomi Sensor lottery.

Today, I received the second handset and the touchscreen seems to be supported goodix_ts. Lucky here.
Unfortunately, the charger board is ln8000. The first phone has bq2597x-charger.

Is ln8000 troublesome?
Will I lose some functionality using custom ROMs?
Do I risk premature damage to the device or battery?

I need some more info as not sure if that is a deal breaker.

Any info, advice, or comment is appreciated.

Also GTX8 with LN8000 here. Both works flawless. Try OrangeFox instead of TWRP, as long u dont need erofs iirc.

gtx8 is also goodix. seems the second phone has sunny main sensor and imx471 but the rest are ofilm . ln8000 has some issues where users experience either slow charge speed or disconnects and sometimes both, but with newer kernels and roms these issues are fixed for the most part.

Why this is different? Does it matter?
Both were purchased directly from Xiaomi UK

the "sweet_eea" specifies that the phone was specifically designed for the EU region. EEA stands for "European Economic Area" and the rom which comes pre-installed (i.e. MIUI) must comply with the EU regulations and standards, including some software abilities like being able to disable all ads found in pre-installed applications in one place (in the global variant, they must be individually disabled within each app). also its to be noted that the EEA variant has no beta variant (whereas the global variant does have that option) and gets less frequent updates on comparison.

the "sweet" if you haven't guesssed by now stands for the global variant...

as to if it matters while installing custom roms, that depends on if the hardware of the EEA variant and the global variant of the phonw are different in some aspect or the other. for example, i use the indian variant (sweetin) and it doesn't have an NFC option while it's present on the global variant, therefore i specifically have to look for roms built for "sweetin" and not "sweet" (althought it doesn't usually matter a lot with roms, you have to be careful when it comes to flashing custom kernels). as i'm not sure of the hardware differences between the eea and global variants, i'll let someone else reply that question, but yes thats the main difference between "sweet_eea" and "sweet"

The sweet was unavailable for a few months at Xiaomi UK but was available in Germany, France, and Holland at a cheaper price...
It may also be that they took some devices from mainland Europe shipped to the UK and flashed global on them.
The second device I've got shows sweet_eea but MIUI is Global. Also, the box was different, with no seals on it. It might be some dodgy practice by Xiaomi but I am kinda happy that I've got a goodix_ts equipped one.

They come all from same Manufactor iirc. Its about Hardware Sellout to get rid of old parts in my opinion. Thats i think also the reason to drop that 8gb/256gb silent into the markets to keep going with. Its Good hw for a decent price. I wont care as much, expect old/non Xi optimised TWRP arent "working", no?!

The second device I've got shows sweet_eea but MIUI is Global. Also, the box was different, with no seals on it. The phone had no protector on the back glass as the first one had. It might be some dodgy practice by Xiaomi but I am kinda happy that I've got a goodix_ts equipped one.

Going to request unlock today.

it's just the firmware flashed on it that's giving it the sweet eea name. to my knowledge there are no hardware differences between eea and global sweet.
