bro, this is wonderful. however, i am facing a problem that i am on stock 3.2 xoom verizon 3g. how can i get root access of this one?
I made a quick link update for you. The root section for the 3.2 3G Xoom is now made available. It's actually the same link as the 3.2 Wifi model as well, because the thread shows you how to root both. I almost forgot about that until I checked that thread again. Thanks for the reminder!

Hey man!
nice work!

But, I have a Wifi Xoom. I tried to root my 3.1 android, but i´m stuck on duacl core logo´s.. it´s looping....

What U have to do? I did everything like you post.
Hmm... it's hard to say what went wrong while you tried to root your 3.1 Wifi Xoom. I cannot say for sure, but I would go into the appropriate thread that I have given in the original post for the 3.1 Wifi Xoom rooting, and post about it there. I can help as much as I can, but I don't have a Wifi Xoom to test. Maybe someone in that thread can give you the appropriate answer. Sorry about that.

Also, try this other rooting thread for 3.1 Wifi Xoom's, and let me know if that works... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130996

I had the same trouble. I resolved it by going to a slower computer. I don't know why this helped, maybe something to do with the timing.

Finally I am back after a short break! I will be updating the thread a little bit at a time right now.

As a side note: It seems a few people were having issues with the 3.1 rooting method listed in the main post. I would highly suggest that you update your Xoom to the 3.2 update before trying to root. You should have no problems rooting once you get the update up and running, and then using the root guide for 3.2 listed in the main post.

Also: Since this thread has become recently become a sticky, the poll question can now be removed. Can a mod please remove the poll question from this thread when they get the chance to? Thanks! :)

Guys,I've got an error:device not found issue

USB debugging is on

Look at the picture (to see how it looks)
The only thing I can think of at the moment is that you are missing the Motorola USB drivers since it's not recognizing it at all. Please go here and download and install the USB drivers from Motorola: Motorola USB Drivers (for Windows)

Doing so, your computer should then recognize the Xoom as a device and will then work so that you may input the commands of your choice whether it be by ADB or by Fastboot. Hope that helps! If not, report back here and I'll try again. ;)

A minor update has been issued. I have edited a few minor things and I have also added in a new section for my other personal threads that I feel would be useful for you guys. It can be found at the very bottom of the original post.

And I am currently working on gathering more links, information, and content to add to the thread, so there will be a much bigger update to follow in the next few days. Total thread completion is now up to about 30%! There is still much to be done. Stay tuned y'all for another update! :)

Some more minor updates: Changed thread title to reflect upon all users, edited more text, added a new Xoom Heaven placeholder for my sig until I have the time to make one, split the thread into root and non root sections. Still more to come soon! Now with the decison to add in non root sections, I have put a bit more work onto myself. ;)

So there you have it: My big update involves the non root users. I am working on bringing some content to you guys, don't worry. Stay tuned!

You are doing a hella job on this. The only thing that would be nice is some way for the non-US Xooms to get hold of their stock images and rooting guides. That's what seems to be needed, judging from the recent requests for help I've seen. Do you have any plans to add those in, or should someone make a new companion master thread addressing those needs?

Thanks again! :)

And I do plan on adding in the non-US Xoom rooting guides and such for sure. Sounds like I'll have to try and add those in sooner rather than later. I'll do the best I can.

EDIT: In preparation for them, I have added in sections to the main post for the UK models.

I came across this link to a rooting guide for Euro 3G models:
http://shell9.wordpress.com/2011/08...a-xoom-3g-and-install-honeycomb-3-2/#more-121 on a blog...it's largely culled from xda sources and Tiamat files, (with due credit given) and looking it over, it seems ok. It's kind of hard to put this together from the threads in the Development section right now....

If I weren't also a college student, I would donate something...but you know, expenses and such ;)

Anyway, thank you for the thread. As a soon-to-be Xoom owner (recently turned away from the 10.1 because of oil slick issues and I hate having one port for every function), this was exactly what I was looking for.

This section of the forums will hopefully be up one more member and the general section is down exactly 1 stupid noob question for people to complain about.

I clicked the "thanks" button. Frankly, everyone should :)

Aww, darn. You could probably use a donation as well huh? ;) And it's good to know that this would be useful to you, see as though you are joining the Xoom side.

why don't you add the Rouge Recovery in the Recovery section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235170
Sweet! I'm adding that in right now. Thanks! :)

Note To Public: I will be doing a definite thread update in a day or so. I've just been quite busy the past few days and have not been able to give much attention to this thread. Thanks!

Thread update, finally! I have updated the Euro section for rooting, edited some text like always, and have now added a nice new app list section that does not require root. Quite a few apps on that list, and I will continue to add in more when I can.

Still more to come! Thanks! :)

Here's another recommended app that requires root: it's kind of a one stop for all your system tinkering.
