I will no longer be transcoding my videos for playback on the xoom.
Just found out there is finally a proper player that plays normal 720p mkv h264 files with ac3/dts and doesn't stutter or go out of sync. [finally...]
Have only tried on a couple of movies myself - but the general feedback seems to be this is the video player we've been waiting for

I'm pretty sure that the reason why it has you zoom in is that the wallpaper has to fit the screen when you're in portrait mode too. I don't know of any way around this other than adding some latterboxes to your images.Any chance someone can give some advice on setting wallpapers?
1. How can you set a downloaded file to fit the wallpaper without having to resize it. The Xoom always wants me to resize which results in a zoomed-in view that is blurry. I have had the same issue running the Galaxy Tab wallpapers. Here is the catch, if I go view a file (wallpaper in this case) online using the stock browser and bring up the image, then hold down on the image and select set as wallpaper, it doesn't ask me to resize and fits the screen just fine (kinda hints that its not the file, but the device). It makes it difficult as I need to find the images portrayed on-line to set correctly (not easily found).
2. Where is the default location for wallpapers on the Xoom? My goal is to put custom wallpapers in the same directory as the stock wallpapers (I am rooted).
Cheers to thatI will no longer be transcoding my videos for playback on the xoom.

It happened to me with one of my USB cables. After switching cables, my Xoom was recognized by my computer. What is it, a joke???
I'm plugging into my pc and DO NOT GET ANY REACTION.
On the first time a drvier installed itself.
Now... nothing.
I don't get any notification on the tablet or anything resembling plugged device on the pc.
Sow how many times would you suggest me to plug in and off yet?
This pad sucks.
You are correct...I had forgotton that. We need to remind people who use windows to make sure the Media Player is downloaded. The solution to my problem for you to put in the first post.
When the xoom does not show up on PC it may be the problem of.... windows media player!
Xoom uses drivers of WMP to communicate with PC. If someone does not have the newest WMP drivers it will not show up and you can see xoom device in the devices tab on PC having an exclamation mark.
So the solution is to download and install Windows Media Player 11.
It has worked for me.
Same thing happened to me but I was not using the stock cable. It happened to me with one of my USB cables. After switching cables, my Xoom was recognized by my computer.
