Ok so I increased the original template by 50% and created another PSD for those that want to use higher resolution images.

The new visible resolution for each desktop is 1764x1028 and the overall image resolution is 2616x1920.

It should be noted that the desktop area is NOT in the center of the image as the bottom status bar pushes it up a bit.

thanks for this. The wallpaper isn't the same when honeycomb only shows a portion of the wallpaper
No problem!

I am not really sure if its really anything different then other Android versions. Its really just that Honeycomb is meant to be used in landscape and I dont think that the crop tool has been redesigned to compensate for that.

My other wallpapers on my Nexus S, Vibrant and G1 all look chopped when the phone is rotated to landscape as apposed to portrait. Its still odd that the centered resolution for each desktop is lower then the native resolution of the screen in both dimensions. Its making me wonder if the screen really is 1280x800 native resolution.

Either way the template above works and keeps things centered for us.

Wouldn't the Xoom just scale it back down?

Dumb question for you....do you select green layer and resize the image within the template to that and save the whole thing, or do you resize it to the green area and then create another file?

Think I figured it out

If you are using the large template then the Green area in the center is the area of the wallpaper that is visible on the default center desktop. The red areas to its side are what you will see if you scroll to the desktops left or right of center.

If you are using the colors only to center your images, then hold down CTRL+; to bring up the guides, which will make it easier for you.
