Its a rather small, "under the hood" update. Changes likely won't be noticable, tbh...

Well, small in the sense that it brings a lot less than the rumours had been purporting...

Google framework trick worked for ̂me in France. But I couldn't find any difference now that I'm running 4.1.2.
I'm a bit disappointed as I thought the Play Store would be updated to 3.9.16 but it was not ...

The Play Store 3.9.16 is updated separately. You can download it here:

Thanks, but I knew I could download it, I didn't want to do that because I wanted to wait for the official Play Store update.
I prefer the official as I am then sure that the Play Store will then be the most optimized for my Xoom ...

How do we update the Play Store, will there be an official update pushed on my Xoom or am I obliged to manually download the APK ?

Thanks

New versions of Google Play app will be 'pushed' to your device eventually. You just have to be patient. It hasn't yet arrived to any of mine (i did manually install on my xoom but have factory reset since then)

Hello I am from Greece and my XOOM say the latest update is 4.0.4 how I put 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 and is is safe and good?
You probably don't have the US firmware installed on your Xoom. 4.1.2 is only rolling out to US WiFi-only devices. If you're in Greece, yours probably runs one of the international firmware variants and it remains to be seen if those will ever see an update to Jelly Bean.

Now, if you have a WiFi-only model, you can flash the US firmware to yours and then you will get the updates direct from Google (including Jelly Bean), but if you have a 3G model, you're out of luck unfortunately.

Simply put
Unlock bootloader
Flash US images
OTA up from Honeycomb

Also, unlocking your bootloader will wipe your tablet's data so make sure you back up any documents, photos, music, or anything else you want beforehand.
