The only thing you can do is root it, not unlock it.
What you can do with xoom 2 ?
Well ... just enjoy the device, as it is a great device, be patient a couple more days as ICS provided by Motorola is just around the corner/month.
And maybe maybe the ICS version will bring a shift in mentality for Motorola which results in the unlocking of the bootloader.
my 2 €cents

Yeah what he said. Also Motorola said on Twitter that they will have a unlocking tool soon. So like ezekionokia said, just enjoy the tablet for now. :)

I do not understand the behavior of Motorola
The XOOM came factory open
So why lock the XOOM2?

I sold the first XOOM and I bought two and now I regret it.
XOOM2 stuck with HONYCOMB and one already with JB ...

On the other hand it is not surprising.
601 still dont get the official version of the ICS.
Without EOSTEAM We were stuck in 3.1

@cmeyal - read the forum, the issues has been talked about over and over again.
Motorola Xoom 1 is a google experience device, aka GED, with updates coming directly from Google while Xoom 2 is a 100% Motorola device, with updates going through the slow turtle like development process Motorola is known for.

Why this shift of mentality, maybe it has something to do with the fact that Motorola is doing pretty good in America and Google wanted to do a device with a "home-player" which has great spread in the US.
I maybe very wrong here, but that's what I think.

Yes EOS team does wonders! JB now on european 3G xoom!
Just cant believe motorola waste so good hardware by not updating it at all!
