I pulled down the kknetw.zip file that was labeled TWRP 2.6.3.1. Where do I need to unrar (decompress) these files? Also, is there a specific .bat file to execute the procedure? The one I see is flashall.bat but when I run it it tells me it is waiting for flashboot enumeration and won't proceed any further..

I have been looking for a way to obtain root access to my Xyboard 10.1 MZ617 running Android 4.1.2, version 98.8.127.MZ617.Verizon.en.US. My battery is not charging very well and I have been researching solutions. One requires root access to delete the file which holds battery charging statistics so that it can be reestablished. The method stated in this thread made reference to a zip file on a web page that does notr seem to exist anymore. When you replied to my orginal post, I thought that you were directing me to a solution for the Xyboard. I apologize upfront if I did not provide the right information.

Do you know of a source to root the Xyboard mentioned here?

Would I be correct in assuming that the document "rootsimp.doc" will explain the procedure? I am downloading the jbnest.zip file as I type this reply. If not, I may have totally misunderstood your original reply.

Sir..my pages have absolutely nothing to do with an MZ617 XYBoard of any model..why do you think this.? The pictures indicate what/which model device the zips are for..NO XYBoard on my pages..

rootsimp.doc >>is for Rooting the XT1080M Droid Maxx and Moto X..

This will Root a >> MZ617 XYBoard 10.1 on Jelly Bean 4.1.2

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B67RS0BDBp_iYU4xbHc4UTh3ZjA/edit?usp=docslist_api

Install / run the .exe >> then reboot your computer, tether your tablet via USB to your computer, then run the VRoot program, follow instructions..once one has completed the Root process..one can change over the Chinese version of SuperSu..to Chainfires version if preferred..

My ORIGINAL post #218..I removed because it wasn't the correct link, And I did not want it in the OP..anyhow..the above reply will get you what you need..

Dear NWKENT,

I have used the file above and rooted successfully.

On another note, I came across this post on another thread (post #30) in this forum that the VROOT version 1.6 given above has malware, as compared to the VROOT 1.50 provided in the other thread. I'm not sure how true this is, as I have already rooted with the 1.6 and I'm not sure if there is a way to remove this malware (if it exists) /reverse the process. T_T

This is true, ever since I rooted with this method everytime I try to download something my phone also downloads an app on it's own I think is called mobogeanie.apk or something and when I open my trickster app it gives a toast notification about a modified root app might contain virus/malware so I guess I'll have to find a different way to root probably with a virtual linux machine.""

Switch to Chainfires Super User at least to v1.80..I have been running this Root method for at least six months on all three of my XYB's with no complications..You could also install Titanium Backup Pro..and if you where to download anything..either avoid install or freeze with Titanium..I have two Droid RAZR Maxx's with this Root method..absolutely no problems..

Help!

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to root my Motorola Xyboard 8.2 Mediation Edition running ICS. However, I've run into a few problems. The link for the Motorola drivers seems to have been removed and is now redirecting back to <http://www.motorola.com/us/home>. Which Motorola drivers do I need, and where should I download them from now? The second problem is with the Root Installer. The link for that installer no longer exists either. Where can I find another copy to download it?

Thanks in advance!

J

P.S. Why won't this process work on Windows 8?
