You can get into recovery mode by holding both volume buttons then press and release power. You will then come to an options screen where you press volume down to recovery and press volume up to select. This will take you to a recovery screen. This will wipe all data! Wipe partition, then restore. Try root program again. I had the exact same messages on that root program. I have yet to find a way to get around it, but maybe it will work for you.

I already tried this as wekk, still no function. But what do you mean with restore? I have no system dump or anything like that to flash :( Any of the Xoom 2 Users with a MZ615 and a working system dump here?

<edit>
I found a system dump online, but how do i flash it? there are several options when holding both Vol + and Vol - and pressrelease power.

First you have to get the files on your system. You can do that by looking for the one click method or with RSD. Search for xyboard fastboot one click on XDA, it is the easiest.

i always have some trouble with this method, but using error and try method, everything went fine.
most of the times the error is:
error: more than one device and emulator
error: more than one device and emulator

but i cant figure out how to correct it.

Did a quick Google. Get on adb and enter "adb devices" you should get a list of devices connected like something of this.

List of devices attached
emulator-5554 device
localhost:5555 device

Then enter "adb kill-server to disconnect localhost:5555" or whatever the 2nd device which is connected. Then just start the Root Machine again. :)

I had that issue and I couldn't get the emulator to stop. I found a very simple solution though. Unplug your USB and type ADB USB. You should see a message that it is restarting in USB mode. I say this assuming you have ADB command prompt.

From the recovery screen do a factory reset. You need to find the official fast boot files and flash if you haven't already. One file has a flash built in. Just follow the directions.

Hi!

I'm thinking about buying a XOOM 2 ME and I have some doubts regarding rooting it...

If I root it with this method, I must do it before updating to ICS right?.

After rooting can I update to ICS without any risk?, will I lost the root?

Thank you in advance for your help.

you can root prior to ICS and/or after it.
Doeasn't make a difference. With OTA root keeper you can "save" your root for ics so you don't have to root again.

You can even root and reset your device as fastboot files are leaked. I made a little tutorial on how to flash em to unroot again or whatever you want :)

Hi,

There ir any way that i can't delete the root?
I wan't to unroot the Xoom 2 ME.
yes

- first try OTA root keeper to temp unroot and save root
- not enough? Try ginger unroot
- want to erase any trace of root? use the tutorial mentioned above

Hi all

A couple of months, I rooted the xoom 2 wifi version uk version(i'm from spain), and then, freezed 15 apps
I used the dan rosemberg script to root.
Now, I unfreezed the apps, and launched the update, but fail, a green android with an preety exclamation shows.
I readed and try the two apps, ota rootkeeper and then ginger unroot, and fails again.

What can I do to install ICS??

Thanks in advance

You can use the flashs provided by droidevelopers.com but they will wipe your data when you unroot this way
