Verizon xbboard 10.1 in kiosk mode

I have a Xyboard 10.0 that boots to an application in kiosk mode.. I want to root it and eliminate the kiosk app then upgrade to ICS... I cannot get to settings but I can get into recovery mode by holding POWER and VOL down.. then I get to a screen that says ...something locked.. ready to program attach USB cable.

Any Ideas ??

TIA for any help!!!

Flash it with fastboot files that are available...

Yep..seems to me..flashing is the only cure..

If you do not have the fastboot files, here's a link to the ICS 617, second from bottom..

I dont see the GB 617 on this list..but if you need the GB version, get with me..

Maybe it's because I'm on windows8, can this be the problem?

*Edit: I did a virtual machine for windows xp and it worked like a charm, thanks!

Doesn't seem to work on a MZ609 (Verizon) with ICS?

I have tried on a Windows 7 and Windows XP desktop. Any ideas of other options I can try? I have posted the script output below.

If it matters, my tablet is encrypted as well (which doesn't really affect the OS).

Assuming you have ICS, you need to find and use DroidRazrRoot also by Dan Rosenberg. The one you are trying to root with is meant for Honeycomb.

Well, I did a factory reset and was able to root with the ICS OP method (DroidRazrRoot404).

Warning: Factory reset wipes ALL. I was surprised because my Galaxy S has internal "SDcard" that survives a reset.

It was with the leaked version of ICS. There are some apps that will do a backup to your sdcard. Look for an Android folder, it will have some app data in it. Copy and paste that folder to your PC. It will be limited though and you will lose everything with no guarantee that it will work.

It seems to be write-protected. I ran .bat with admin ritghs on windows 7, but no success.

Make sure you are using the right package in OP. You likely have ICS, that one uses the RAZR version. I think the XYZ is for something different.
