Hopefully many will chip in with this and we can fully unlock our great devices. If you do not have a custom recovery you can go here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965686, thanks to Hashcode. The mods I am making is in part to two tools found by XDA users, this tool found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434061 and this really cool tool found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918500. If you use the second one, there are some adjustments you have to make to the output. Let me know and I will tell you.

The flash will mod your battery, wifi signal, and there are images for the data signal. It will also place the necessary xml files in the System UI.

Place this zip in your /sdcard/Download folder. Otherwise you may have a hard time finding it. As always, make sure you have a backup in case something goes wrong. I will post more as I get them.

Updated with latest. Let me know how this works.

Added 1% battery mod. Thanks to gjnicholson for providing the source! I can confirm it works on MZ617.

I flashed your newest (XYBoard mods-1.3) the second screen shot, with the large blue WiFi..the other screen shot is from your zip, from earlier today..I like both WiFi icons..but as you can see, the new mod doesn't have a battery icon, have I done something wrong..or you still developing this mod.? Either way, Thank you very much for all your effort..

Look in your sdcard for a universal flasher folder, you will have logs in there, post the latest one. The one I posted earlier was missing some important files. The second one worked on mine, so I need to see the logs to figure it out.

mods not working

I was eager to try these out and luckily did a backup with safestrap first. I installed the blue icon version first and it was fine but i didnt like not having the battery icon. I then went with the 1% zip and it took away all my icons for home, recent apps, back, battery, wifi, data signal, and also my wallpaper. I had to restore the rom slot to the backup, tried again and same problems. Lastly, I installed the yellow wifi signal with the altered lock screen and I LOVED IT!! A few hours later i tried to install from play store a simple app and it said "invalid package file". When i rebooted and fixed permissions with safestrap it would not boot past the safestrap screen. The tablet was just black. I tried again after i restored the rom slot and still same problem. I checked my other rom slot and everything is fine. What am I doing wrong?

Where is the sound file stored.?
I will try to see that you have a copy if you haven't already..

Sent by my Motorola Droid XYBoard MZ617-32 10.1_ICS 4.04
Should be in root device storage /media. Boot animation will be a .zip or. .gif. Sound files will be near that. I found it once just exploring. I have several custom animations now but the sound is gone. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly where it was. Thnx

Hello friend..I have included screenshots of the directories in which you suggested the boot animation sound file is located..as you can see, there is no such file, I own two XYBoard 10.1's the 32gb and a 64gb version MZ617 and the directories are the same, no .ogg file, nore does either of my devices play a sound when booting, I remember back with the DroidX2, played the "DROID" sound..I do have that. ogg file stored somewhere..

IF I'm not looking in the proper directories, please advise, and I will search further..SORRY, I'm of no help.

Hi..Does anyone, or has anyone had this notification, "Low on volume space"..Can the threshold \ notification be raised, can this notification be modified or even disabled.?

I have a MZ617-32 ICS 4.04 and with 1.70 GB available, I receive this warning..

I have a MZ617-64 ICS 4.4 and with 6.20 GB available, I receive the warning

Is there a MOD out there for this..?

Thank YOU..

This "Low on volume space"
I understand is a partition size issue also, but my whole point and request is this: Is there a way to disable the warning..or modify the flag \ switch that activates this warning.?

It is referring to the internal/media section of your rom slot. Look in titanium and see how much is left. Mine says this after using play music and the cache fills up.

This can also be due to some odex files if you uninstalled a odexed app while your ROM is deodexed
Look in /data/app and see if any .odex file is present then delete it

Thanks for your suggestion..BUT..Nope..No. odex file in that directory, I have basicly a stock ICS 4.04 ROM..with only a couple status bar Mods, nothing fancy..LOL

I can remove the notification, and within a couple minutes, it returns..

OH..if only we had "Nitro"..He'd fix all this mess..

Thank YOU friend, for your effort to help..

Thanks friend..BUT..I have never used "Play Music" on this tablet..I use PowerAmp and WinAmp..I have used that app. on my XYBoard 32 before, but rarely..if I understand your suggestion.?

Surely there is a way to mod the switch, with this annoying notification, BUT..we user of ancient tablets must endure, I guess..lol..but cannot see myself using anything but Motorola.!!

Thank You very much..

OK,
Then can you join a logcat just when this notification appears? it will definitely help to understand what happens

Also, not only the apps are odexable, framework files can also be odexed, by changing the themes or the status bar for example. Have you checked the /system/ framework directory?

Get "alogcat " from play store. Open. Select verbose in settings. Record and share in top corner.

ICS 4.04 is to my knowledge, the latest OS for the XYB's..and also..not a single custom ROM available..BUT..maybe, as you mentioned, a Jelly Bean update certainly would be nice..I have four XYB's awaiting JB..
