YOU are responsible for what you do.
We are not responsible for any damages, data loss or any type of unexpected,
bad or damaging results! If you have **SERIOUS** problems with this software,
please contact the developers or maintainers. We are not liable for anything
bad that happens to your device.
As long as you are responsible, some companies such as Xiaomi
WILL HONOR IT. Some people occasionally describe them as heroes.
Don't be stupid and bet on that though, please be responsible for what you do.
We prohibit you from overclocking to 1337 GHz thinking, that an OEM would
replace your glorious space heater etc.
We recommend you to take the advice above regardless.[/CENTER]

halogenOS Checklist

Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:

Please take a full nandroid backup!

Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!

Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.

Common stuff

The ROM is super stable as of now and we'll maintain a clean and proper ROM.

Known issues are going to be fixed as soon as possible. We don't have infinite time.

Highlights (some are device specific):
  • Modern Services -> Google Assistant etc.
  • Substratum
  • Full media support (FFMPEG, video codecs, ...)
  • Super fast boot
  • Superuser-capable
  • Soundmod support (not all soundmods work on Nougat, it's not our fault)
  • addon.d support (backups your gapps etc. when flashing new build - don't wipe system before flashing!)
  • init.d support
  • BusyBox
  • Super smooth
  • Support for trusted third-party WebViews like Chrome
  • Long press on home for assist toggle
  • OpenGapps (Mini/Micro/Nano recommended) and Banks GApps support
  • Alert Slider
  • Full KeyHandler & KeyDisabler support
  • Dexpreopt for faster (first) boot time and less space consumption on data partition
  • Upgrade & Boot the ROM in just 5 minutes - no more endless waiting for flashing a new build
  • Very high compatibility with other ROMs

Rooting: If you want to use root via SuperSU, make sure to use SuperSU 2.78 SR5 (or newer). Otherwise you won't be able to use sensors. You can also use Magisk and Phh's superuser if you desire to.

How to install the ROM :
  1. Download the latest zip
  2. Reboot into TWRP
  3. Wipe system, data and cache
  4. Flash the ROM
  5. Flash gapps if you want
  6. Flash Magisk 14.0 (or newer) or SuperSU
  7. Reboot

-VoLTE Fixed - remove and add APN and it will work.

can you please explain me, what is CAF
CAF stands for the Code Aurora Forum. It's the place where Qualcomm releases source code for their phone processors. It's directly supported by Qualcomm and it's generally a more optimized branch for Snapdragon phones.
Now, there are two mainlines for Qualcomm chipsets. We have CAF, and we have AOSP.
CAF is what Qualcomm provides to all hardware vendors, as references and documentation on the chipset. Because of this, almost all non-Nexus devices are running HALs, kernels, etc from the CAF line.
AOSP is direct from Google. Google will take a fork from the CAF like, and add or retract features that they deem necessary, and then produce that for Nexus phones.
So, what this means is CAF ROMs will likely perform marginally better, but they are lacking features added by Google's AOSP line.
Hope it helped!:);)

Just flashed halogenOS and just as esemyuron reports, everything, and I mean everything works.. Led, IR blaster, FP sensor, all sensors, super fast and smooth, and boot speed is amazing... Only bug is charging icon, but using full circle icon, it has breathing effect while charging, when it charges from % to %, and that's kinda useless, but other than that, the best ROM for redmi 4x..

Hi! The rom is great, but we found some bugs -
    1. Usb tethering doesnt work
    2. Battery charging doesnt shown on statusbar / lockscreen
    3. Cant send any files with bluetooth
    4. Volte (I dont use though)

i will try my best to look for it

Yes its right, its the stablest and fast rom i have ever used on redmi 4x

+ one thing (bug) - headphone's volume buttons doesnt work, i know that this doesnt work on other customs too, but to be perfect rom we do want it to be fixed in the next update ( to fix it add 2 strokes "key 250 VOLUME_DOWN , key 251 VOLUME_UP" in file system/usr/keylayout/Generic.k)

And.. I noticed that separate battery percentage on statusbar doesnt change color (black or white) on dark or bright activities, its always white
