I read an article about the LAPD Hidden Spy Camera Detection using Smartphone Time-of-Flight Sensors (official webiste) and find the related GitHub project so my question is: someone on Xda may have the knowledge to compile a working app for the Xperia 1 III? May it work on it? Thanks

it works, you can get the apps from google play and test it, not only Xperia 1 mk3, Xperia 5 works fine too.

Can you give the specific name of the app, or the direct link for the app in the play store, or a screenshot of the app in the play store
Searching for "hidden camera" in the play store comes up with many generic results and none of them seem to use the ToF sensor, which is what we are looking for.
