Which call recorder you use?It works fine. Just got a new Xperia 1 IV today. Possibly, I am looking for a rootable phone for weeks now, that does not rolling off from the table and has a good hardware. Managed to activate all my apps including banking and call recording as well on google dialer. Thank you for your input. Btw i had to replace the O2 firmware on it with the Generic UK firmware, as the O2 firmware did several update OOB, and corrupted the firmware.
Make sure to add Google Wallet to the Magisk DenyList and clear app data and reboot.

What does Enable in-band ringing?qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to hide the navigation bar and persist.bluetooth.disableinbandringing=0 to enable in-band ringing.
It prevents bluetooth headsets from ringing their own on-device ringtone, and ring your personalised phone ringtone instead.
No, OTA updates are blocked with a modified boot.img. To update, use XperiFirm to get the latest version, extract boot.img and Magisk patch it (same steps as in the OP), then use Newflasher to first set slot A active (newflasher set_active:a), then flash the firmware making sure to answer YES that you want to preserve userdata, reboot to fastboot, and flash your patched updated boot.img.@mufunyo can you get OTA updates while being rooted? If so, how do you contain the root after you update your phone with the OTA update?
What are your steps to proceed?

Install them systemlessly using Magisk.
Can you give me a little bit theory about why or if a TWRP is needit yes or no? Can you give me more detailed why you don't need it and why you maby need it when its hendy?
I am using axet's call recorder from magisk repo. I have tried google dialer mods but ended up with a boot looping device until booted to safe mode.
I see. Good to know that TWRP is pretty solid to have then for backups and etc.I would love to have TWRP so I can make nandroid backups and cover my ass if/when I softbrick my phone. However, there is no TWRP for Android 12 yet, so we'll have to manage without it. As for tweaks/mods, most if not everything can be done using Magisk these days.
[EDIT]These instructions ended up clearing things up for me.You should be able to downgrade to any official firmware with FlashTool without unlocking your bootloader. If your phone goes black it's more likely you're flashing incorrect firmware. You realise there are two distinct hardware variants of the 1 IV, maybe you picked the wrong one? There's the XQ-CT54 and the XQ-CT72. Mine is the XQ-CT54.
use fastboot oem lock command it might ask you for the unlock code you got from sony. However they will see that you have requested an unlock code and EMMA2 will flag it out of warranty. I was working in a repair center years ago. Every time a relocked Sony phone was plugged in to Sony's EMMA software (that works only on-line) it was flagged as OOW or refused to install the factory software. EMMA is basically an advanced repair version of the Sony Companion software suite, but it lets you downgrade upgrade change CID number or customer ID number on any board most of replacement Sony boards come without software installed (Brown=empty boards)
