How do you guys find taking photos with a flip cover? Do they get in the way? (non touch cover) and how are they ergonomically for holding phone while playing games?

I had these since day 1.
Fyi for anyone interested they are identically the same item just different sellers.

It does the job, well I might ad. However to my eye it doesn't retain the slick aesthetics of the phone.

On the 2 links I supply below the buttons for volume and camera protrude enough for the phone to look a little sh!t for my eye.

Initially wasn't happy with the look nor feel with this case on. I've since become accustomed to the feel.
But overall I don't like the look of the device with this case on, it hides the pleasing design of the phone and in turn it makes the phone look cheap in the sense that the gell case is quite glossy. It's a pedantic point of view I agree, as any case is due to alter the look/feel of a device.
2cents for anyone interested.

Xperia XZ Case, Profer [Exact Fit] ANTI-Scratches [100% Clear] TPU Gel ULTRA SLIM FLEXIBLE SOFT Bumper Protective Case for Sony Xperia XZ (Clear) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LW8TNGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CFuaybJB8RFTN

Sony Xperia XZ Case,CANWN Sony Xperia XZ Soft TPU Case Clear Tran... http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LVY4REW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_udp_apa_qLuaybM5YQKWN

A Matt finish and thinner version would be better for aesthetics but will then hide the pleasing forest blue tone and provide less protection.

Update for anyone intrigued.

Called clove to just quiz them over the stock. I pre ordered over the weekend thanks to your post.

They are receiving 20 forest blue this week. And have already over sold. Thankfully I'm 14th in Cloves pre order queue and they've ensured I will get mine in this weeks forthcoming batch.
From the sound of what he said they should be receiving batches of these cases from Sony every week.

As it is they are due to receive 20 of them this week in forest blue and have already pre sold over that amount.

Good luck

Please let us know your impressions when you get it. They're mighty expensive for what they are so I need a guinea pig to give an honest opinion. I only found indirect reviews from the previous xperia X series style touch cover and they were a bit of a mixed bag. So I'd be interested what you make of it once you get it.

Will do.
Tbh I'm not sure if I will like it. I'm anxious. But can only assume that it will add sufficient bulk to the phone.
We'll see.

Another option has surfaced at Orzly.
I've used them for my previous Sony's from time to time, one of the best gel case options from that previous experience.

Just gave them a call now.
The "felxislim" in black - is a thinner transparent black case.
The "flexicase" in clear - a thicker case.

http://orzly.com/manufacturers/sony/xperia-xz

The illustrations they have of the transparent black using the forest blue phone doesnt actually look bad at all.

Looks quite promising and I'm also interested, however, we're still lacking a reliable screen protector for the XZ due to the slight curve on the edges of the glass. There is nothing convincing on the market atm. There's the G-color transparent edge to edge which got its first review (positive) yesterday. But the same brands attempts at the S7 edge were pretty bad going by the reviews. Roxfit/olixar are due quite a bit later and the roxfit is black/white (i have a feeling they hide a layer of adhesive on the edge instead of making it fully transparent) Might have to resort to a 90% coverage screen protector/naked/flip case.

This one is 100% perfect screen coverage

Sony Xperia XZ Screen Protector (3D Glass), G-Color??????????® Sony Xperia XZ 3D Full Cover... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LXCPQU2/ref

Full cover over the curved glass and all.

I've had it since day one.
It was purchased without expectation.

Pro: absolute perfect coverage. Honestly.
Perfect cutouts

Negative: front face camera cutout possibly too perfect, in that front face camera shots result in a slight white hue due to the screen protector protruding from the screen as such. Slight loss of screen responsiveness, only on the corners(But nothing too annoying tbh)

As good as this protector looks on the device I don't think I would recommend it

thanks for the post, I think I may give a flip cover a go. If i hate that, I'll use a back case and just let the glass go nude and just try my best to not scratch it

Clove posted the case yesterday.
So potentially receive today or tomorrow.

I will very quickly decide if I want to keep it or not.

In the case I don't want it. I'm willing to sell it to anyone UK based £40 all in (PM me if interested.)

Edit: received, it's very nice indeed. Feels very nice in hand. However I don't think the flip scenario works for my usage.

PM if anyone wants to buy. :good:

I also have 2 of these for sale £5 each - Xperia XZ Case, Profer [Exact Fit] ANTI-Scratches [100% Clear] TPU Gel ULTRA SLIM FLEXIBLE SOFT Bumper Protective Case for Sony Xperia XZ (Clear) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LW8TNGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DImcybV5S7TQ0

Orzly smoke black is the winner for me.

The phone retains the premium feel without adding bulk.
And the gelcase feels very nice in hand too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Style cover provids better thicker protection.
But I didn't like the cover. It's opaque and not to my taste.
And when mounted in the car, the cover will not remain closed it has a life of its own. Hence it doesn't work for my particular needs/usage. Most importantly I'm left handed user with phones, the cover becomes very annoying/obstructive in that regard, when trying to use the phone with the cover open.

Now very happy with the orzly smoke black with my forest blue phone. Naked screen.

(If I get the opportunity later I will send pics of all 3 cases I currently have, before I return them tomorrow.)

Agreed. i used Ultimate Shield temper glass full coverage screen protector b4 and i must say it too has the exact same pros and cons you mentioned here. I don't really like it as i play game and annoy me a lot when clicking the edge and corner of the screen.

i guess most curved temper glass screen protector will suffer the same fate.

Exactly.
I'm now using the screen naked.

Hi dillalade, could you provide a pic of the orzly case on your XZ?
Tried to be as comprehensive as I could
(Photos taken with Sony XP)

Also, does it protect the screen when the XZ is layed down upside down or is it flush with the screen?
Thanks in advance :).
Pretty much flush tbh, 1mm protruding from top and bottom front edges - slight but not ample protection for that usage you detail.
