Terrible support? Come on now. That isn't true and you know it. At least 8 updates (most of which back ported features from newer devices) over 4 major versions of Android in just over a year is not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. Terrible support is shoving a device out of the door that's full of bugs then not releasing an update for nearly a year that still didn't fix those bugs, which is what LG did with the Optimus 2X.

As for bugs, well, there's currently nothing that stops the phone functioning for me. The worst problem currently seems to be the Google Play services battery drain (which I'm not experiencing), which is the fault of Google, not Sony. Yes, the sudden death bug was really bad, but they fixed it and replaced handsets of those affected, which is also not indicative of terrible support.

Your other complaints also don't affect me. I get decent wifi reception around 50-60 metres from my router at the end of my garden. The camera isn't stellar, but it's a phone. I have a digital camera for anything past quick snapshots.

It seems you just had very high expectations which weren't met. That's fair enough, but if you go to the forum for any device you see people posting the same sort of thing as you did, so other manufacturers are no better really. I've had devices from them all and Sony is nowhere near the worst OEM now. :)

Yeah, probably you are right.I had bigger expectations,That is the reason probably.I know that every device and manufacturer have their issues, that's the truth. As you said they do backport features from newer devices to older, which is kinda mistake on their side.Because it slows the updates plus this and that feature remains exclusive to the current flagship. But yeah, thats what I've got,so gotta live with it like it or not.Just over the course I realize that I see myself more like a Nexus user, rather than fan of custom OEM firmwares,i was not aware exactly what I want feature wise when I bought the phone.Currently I am on AOSP and I don't miss anything from the original Sony rom.But yeah, people learn on the fly.

Finally someone who speaks some sense here.. You are right dude.. XZ is a premium device.. Same goes according to Sony.. And i have been mentioning to many of the people that XZ's KK bugs are all from Google's 4.4.2, not just Sony's.. All those will be solved in 4.4.3..

Here I disagree.battery drain may be because of the Gapps, but the lag,the audio sluttering are due to Sony fault, not to mention that they persisted in the leaked build, people reported, nobody listened to fix them.Plus you are telling me that your camera takes 4+ seconds to start due to Google fault? This is here since the 4.1.2 and it will remain here it seems forever.

My camera starts up in around 2 seconds every time.
Yes, there's a bit of lag and apparently music stutters for some, but those were issues in 423 and they fixed them then. ;)

I didn't say that camera starts 4+ seconds.. And my camera opens just fine.. No probs with it since 4.1.. And audio stuttering is there in original 4.4.2 too.. In case u haven't read in the internet.. Google for the bugs of 4.4.2 and u will know all kinds of bugs.. And about lags, its kernel related.. Sony probably are still working on the kernel and its likely for XZ to get 4K video recording.. And its blobs are also inside the kernel.. So give them time.. Obviously they have listened to all the people complaining and they probably are working on it right now.. And if u must know, XZ KK is way more stable than Z2's KK.. :silly:

Basically you're right, but the audio stuttering is not even half as worse on a Nexus 5 with 4.4.2, it only happens with some FLAC's.

Also don't think we'll get 4k, that will never happen due to hardware.

Well it does install, but probably there is something in the z2 services which are being checked before use, i mean, it does say exclusive to z2
